Sure, anyone's welcome!

OT - but BParson's death was news to me. Not a Nascar fan, but too bad on that one.

OK...back to our regularly scheduled programming, already in progress...

If any of you are dog or cat owners and need advice or an opinion I am a practicing Veterinarian in Aurora Ontario (just north of Toronto). E-me if you need some help.

You all have already been of great service to me.

Bill

I run a Family trust and a Hard money business in Southern California.
Before that I was a Real Estate workout guy for a couple of large bsnks.
Lots of fun and enough time to play with the kid. Wifey is a subdivision Loan Officer for a very large thrift.

I'm a sound designer and mixer for feature film meaning I'm responsible for the sound track of a movie. While the title is open to interpretation, in my case it usually means creative oversite and execution of the 3 elements of a sound track. Dialog, music and effects. My first effort in this regard was "Apocalypse Now" back in '79. The latest was "Children Of Men" released December '06. For everything in between you have to check IMDB.com. I do some lower profile
projects on the side to keep myself honest. Can't neglect art.

I have yet to get to Sears Point track (I refuse to call it "Infineon") north of SF and do some serious, high resolution recording of competition P-cars. I keep telling my shop, "someday".

Such variety in careers - I enjoyed reading about what people do for a living.

Well, I'm another 993 wannabe. Living downtown forced me to sell my toys, but I will be back in a P-Car soon.

After spending six year in the operations/supply chain area at a large large computer and printer manufacturer, I joined a very small boutique consulting company (www.e2eanalytics.com).

If your company needs supply chain network and process design, risk management, inventory and capacity management, or forecasting and planning work let me know.

I was just watching it in HD (with Dolby Digital of course) with my 17yo daughter who is planning to study film in college. What a brilliant movie. One of our all-time favorites.

Interesting topic...I am the Technology Lead for the Mergers, Acquisitions, & Divestitures group within one of the business units of a Fortune 500 oil field services company. Prior to this I spent 5 years running the R&D group responsible for one of our most profitable product lines following the sale of my startup to the firm. My experience is primarily in software technology (C++/OpenGL programmer), change management, and leading integration following a merger or acquisition. Need a sounding board for how to get a software project, people initiative, or merger on track? I'd be happy to listen; though I won't promise that I can help ;-)

cheers,

sean

This is a really cool thread. Learning the different work interests of owners is interesting!

I work as a consultant in the DC area, specializing in IT systems release engineering and also serving as operations lead at a federal agency for around 100 people. Very rewarding work with strong interaction with a wide array of people. Never a dull moment with over 20 systems needing attention in one form or another. Consulting has certainly proved to be a flexible career, working in both the commercial and federal space over the past 8 years.

Tanker (Air Refueling) pilot in the AF Reserve. Before that, Taker pilot in the active duty AF. So, if you need your airborne assets to stay aloft longer so that they may topple some dictator or bring relief to victims of drought/tsunami/flood/etc., I may be of assistance...

US Air Force navigator for 11+ years on a 45 year old Boeing 135 tanker type aircraft that has been highly modified to do "stuff". Thanks to folks like tankertoad, we get to spend 12-17 hours in the air doing our thing.
