Better late than never. Weird to see so few medical guys.
I'm a forensic psychiatrist in Canada x 10 years. Interest in criminal stuff. You probably don't ever want to see me professionally.
If I win the big lottery, I'd probably retire very early, raise kids, and take courses to become a mechanic. The cerebral stuff is great, but I've been-there-done-that, so I'd look for something completely different.
I like to say to people that they should call me if they need help. But I also say tell them that they should call a lawyer first

yay more Atlantans!
my day job is as an instructor at Road Atlanta.
but in my spare time (monday thru friday ) I'm a consultant for an IT company in Atlanta, GA. the project i am on handles the major business processes for a large telecom company also in Atlanta (bet you can guess who).
as an aside, someone earlier mentioned about taking this thread and entering the information into a database. i took it upon myself to start this task, but wanted to get some input from others to see if it was worthwhile to pursue. i can post up what i've done so far, but does anyone know how to attach excel documents?

Can't believe I missed this, but here goes:
I've owned a small telephone answering service/call center since '94, and a vending company since '05. (Yep, those vending machines that always take your $$$ or don't deliver the product.)
But there has been plenty of Porsche moneymaking in my background, too. Got my first job as a mechanic when I was 19 mainly because the owner was impressed I had rebuilt the engine on my 911. Great college job! Opened a Porsche/BMW shop when I got out of college since I really didn't know what I would do with a finance degree. Went to law school about 5 years later when the economy took a dump. Back to freelancing on 911's in my spare time. Paid for law school! Kept working on 911's after I passed the bar because..........the economy sucked. Then the answering service came on the market via one of my Porsche customers. My life would be VERY different if I did not find that first 911 by happenstance...........
Oh, and if I had to do it over again, would I have tried, and tried, and tried anything possible to have worked myself into pro-level open-wheel racing??????? Nah.

I coulda sworn I'd posted to this thread ages ago!
I'm a product manager/product marketing guy, focused on the high tech side of the consumer world. Mostly software products & services, with forays into broadband, telephony and computing devices. I'm a Mac guy from forever ago - wrote Mac code for pay on and off since 1985 - but have become rather technology agnostic as I've evolved into a product person. Fundamentally it's all about good experience in the end.
I like to design, build and sell things that make a difference in people's everyday lives. In older times I'd have been a blacksmith, which is one of my hobbies along with hacking on German cars and building the occasional hotrod. Another side game is teaching, currently an adjunct at GMU's School of Management. More about me than you ever wanted to know is here at my profile.
I'm currently looking for interesting consumer-oriented work in the Washington DC area and would appreciate any leads folks here might have. With the integration of consumer electronics and automobiles I see an opportunity to change industries, too - VW and Audi connections would be especially valued.
I am always happy to talk about interesting projects with other Rennlisters, please drop a PM or email me at ejd (at) devinney (dot) com if I might have some expertise you can use.

Since this thread has now bubbled up to the top, and i'm relatively new here, i'll just introduce myself here as well. I'm a Program Manager for MSN and Windows Live International. I think there's about a dozen or so microsofties here on this board, but to avoid some of the inevitable verbal abuse, we just kinda lay low. :-)
