Default split spoiler part number needed?

Found this in my manual, I purchased a genuine kit which was the outer frame, the two split grills and the center bar, but it seems a piece is missing, this may be the cause of the warp?

Anyone have a part number and price for this part, labelled 59 on the pdf, listed as only used with the split c2s grill.

I bought the same OEM set up as you. It did not come with that piece. I am going to install it tomorrow and will let you know if that piece is on the factory set up when I take it off.

I never bought the setup chuck, the car is a carrera S.
but years ago, a fellow 993 owner was quoted more than $1000 for the setup, piece by piece.
And we discovered back then, the existance of the retrofit kit, at +/- $350.

993.512.777.00 reinforcement rail is priced around $30

Was purchased from a dealer, all original porsche equipment, but didn't come with the reinforcement rail, does it go under the outer frame, and get held on by the washers? Seems strange that it wasn't included in my kit.

Geolab, is there any chance you can take a digi photo and post it, showing the part in question installed as yours is factory fit, would be a great help.

regards

I just completed the split grill upgrade this weekend.

I decided to purchase the complete spoiler unit from a seller on Ebay and avoid any potential issues with installing the kit pieces. I had the spoiler painted in Polar Silver and installed it this morning with just four 6mm Hex bolds in about 30 minutes. Let me know if any Rennlisters are interested in the stock spoiler and deck lid.

Here are a few photos of the finished product.

I just took off the stock spoiler and noted that it had the rail installed. It is held on with several tabs and can be removed and re-installed in the new spoiler very easily. If not for this post I would have missed it. The part number for that piece is 993 512 717 00. I can see this as being necessary to avoid wrapping.

The cover comes in a black finish so you need to add 01C to the end of the part number, #993-512-717-00-01C

Hi Jason, the part number we are talking about is a reinforcement rail the 777 one found on the user manual number 59 in the above pdf
and not the 993-512-717-00-01C or the one in the picture

You have to look at the two slightly visible superposed layers to pinpoint the mounting.

The piece I am speaking of is at the top of the spoiler (and photo) It runs along the top of the spoiler inside the lip. If anyone needs better photos let me know. You can see the seven tabs that hold it in place.

Chuck, there is a piece that runs along the top edge also (bottom edge in your photo), in between the frame and the grill. That is the piece I'm missing, you can just see it in Geolabs post.

My spoiler has just started to warp along the top edge.
