Question Sunroof operation question

When using sunroof operation is normal till it reaches the end of travel (in either the open or closed position). At this point the motor continues to operate and I have a noise much like chattering gears, or a poorly operating release clutch. I have searched other posts and it appears there is not a definitive answer regarding either the usage of a limit switch, prox switch or clutch to stop the operation of the motor. All my other 911's had smooth operating sunroofs that did not require release of the switch at the end of travel. I am thinking I must have some sort of clutch or limit switch malfunction. Can anybody shed some light on the operation and offer an explanation for the noise. I have opened the inspection covers and cannot visually detect any problems, but I have not removed the cables or motor yet. Thanks. Chris

Thought I would give this another try, as I am planning on taking the assembly and sunroof apart this weekend. Any thoghts on if this is a cable or motor issue? Thank you.

My sunroof got stucked yesterday with that same rattling noise. Had to push it manually while pressing the switch to get it closed.
Anyone has some tips on what would be the cause?

Ah, sounds good. Thank's mate! I'll open up the mechanics and check this afternoon. I will also grease up the sliding mechanism as well.

I opened the zipper and the roof today. No possibility for adjustment up there I'm afraid... My problem was a cracked gearhouse in the sunroof mechanism. I'll have to order a new part tomorrow. Let's hope I can get the gearhouse as a separate part.
See attached photo, please apologize the low quality.
Regards,
Tore

Price for new sunroof gearbox: 390 Euro!
Do anyone have this part laying around for less money than that?
