I thought my recent fan refreshing was appropriate for this thread. I used Duplicolor High Temp engine paint in Aluminum, Cast Iron and Clear. Fan and housing were thoroughly scrubbed, degreased, scuffed, and degreased again before painting. I think the clear coat should allow the blades to stay cleaner in the long run. FWIW, I wanted to have the fan powder coated but was turned away as the guy assured me of blisters/bubbles/etc in the finish. That was enough to cause me to DIY:

There appears to be some lint on the green material in the rear of your workbench. Perhaps it was on the lens of the camera though but doubtful. Also is that really dust on the tool rests of the grinder? Curious minds want to know.

Yes, there is dust and debris on my workbench. I apologize and will try to take any future pictures in my clean room.
