Yes, there's a member on here with a 95 with a Turbo tail. Think is Greg, not sure, he also has an NSX. That will be my choice especially since it's a rennlister car.

If it's still available.. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...hlight=toy+box

I looked at his pictures, prefer Tan or Black Interior.

gotta go with the cab. Nothing like the wind in your hair when tooling around town. Unless you plan to track it.

#3 is my choice.

On the cab: remember if you plan to do any DEs, you must add a rollbar. At least that is the rule in our PCA chapter. (Unless it is a 996 or 997 or Boxster with auto roll bars).

I think that the previous comments are correct - you are either a coupe or cab guy. For me it would be #1 or #3. I also believe that #3 may be high, so I would save money go for #1 and negotiate hard on price.

Have you actually driven these 3 cars? When I was looking, I quickly eliminated cars just by driving them. You should drive all 3 if you have not done so and report back your thoughts...... A couple cars I drove felt "tired".... Maybe the suspension upgrades will be too harsh? The cars should feel different the way they handle - what do you prefer?

How long do you plan to own the car? If it's a keeper, then $$ is less of a consideration. If you turn over your cars often, I'll go #1, less capital to loose. Also most Rennlisters will tell you that miles is less important if the car is religiousely maintained.

My RUF came with 97k miles. I will admit that I have spent a fair penny on it since, but the original price was an absolute steal, mainly for the high miles and the 1995 vintage.

Personally I am leary about soft-tops, so I'm a coupe guy. For me, #2 will not be a consideration.

Good luck.

I would tempt the owner of #3 with an offer of about $35K. If I could get the car for under $37K, then I'd go for it. If not, #1 for about $30K.

2 or 3, I would rather have a coupe. But that is your choice.

1 or 3. I like three first, but one would also be fine. No cabs for me, I prefer the coupes. You should really drive each of them, and then decide. Sometimes similar cars drive way different, and that would be a big deciding factor.

i'd go with #1. new clutch, updated suspension, best wheels (MY02 5 spokes are the coolest wheels for the 993, imo) and it is the least expensive --even if you had to do a top end rebuild, #1 would still be cheaper than #3...

I agree that #1 probably is the best "value" at the stated asking prices. The mods/maintenance noted (suspension, clutch, 90k service, wheels) are NOT cheap (probably north of $10k), so if you plan on doing any of them anyway you're going to pay a lot less overall by finding a car with your desired mods. I never quite understood why people would pay top dollar for a stock example and then spend thousands and thousands of $ in mods.

By the way, those look like MY '02 Carrera lightweights, not Cups... a very nice (and not cheap) upgrade, IMHO

if you have ZERO intention of taking the car to the track and ONLY want a fun nice day weekend car, go with the cabrio.. you won't be disappointed with the top down drives.. (but if you think you ever want to give the track a try, don't even consider the cabrio IMHO)
