for someone who is *unfortunately* a bit less mechanically inclined, can you put this into simpler terms...

what does the 5995 get you vs. the 10500 in terms of HP, etc...

will this conversion work on my 98 993 S

Right, I'm going to sell a kidney on the black market, I really want this upgrade!

Is this upgrade worth even thinking about on a Tiptornic car?

Sorry about my limited understanding, but it seems, in short, that we cannot do this and have the desired result of a smog-legal car in the US?

No, that is not the case. All the heads do is increase the efficiency of the engine, we can supply them with SAI ports if required, so I cannot see how they could have a negative effect on emissions.

I guess what we really need is a determined US customer who has a good shop willing and able to remap his stock dme to take a leap of faith, buy a set of heads & cams (either 9m Sport or RS) & 100 cell cats then have the shop put together the package for him.

I am confident that the heads will do their job, so much so that if after testing the engine failed to meet our expectations I would be prepared to take the heads back (provided they were returned undamaged) and offer a refund for the cost of the parts.

Mrsullivan,
The prices you quote are for our installed 993+1 and 993+2 packages.
The +1 costs £5995 and includes cams, spring/retainer kit, 100 cell cats and live remap.
The +2 is the same as the +1 above with the addition of the 9m/4T heads.

Sorry to drag up such an old thread, but does anybody know where I can get a copy of this mag? I can order online, but putting 3 mags in my basket came out to $50. Surely there is a cheaper way?? I would like to actually have a paper copy, but electronic would be good to read.

I was inspired by issue 46 of the same mag I just picked up that has another fantasic article about Colin's work in it.

The mad thing is that we sold all our copies of the mag before we thought to copy the articles. However since we have got permission from the guys at Total 911 to load them on the website, if someone can either drop in with or post me the mags for us to scan I'll get them loaded onto our newly re-designed website and send the mags back afterwards. Should save you a few $ Bart.

Good news. The thread prompted me to search through my huge pile of magazines and I managed to find the May 06 article on the billet heads. I'll see if we can get it scanned & uploaded soon.

I'll probably still try to fond a way to get a paper copy. Small change compared to the heads I hope to buy from you someday.

I think a 360+ Hp NA 993 may be the perfect car!!

Pick up that last issue of Total 911. Geoffry from Racetech, who is on here, has a 9m setup in a 964 cup replica.

I have and have sold several sets to clients. Not only that, but I have flow bench tested them for flow and velocity and have had several camshafts built specifically for the heads, with the latest camshaft built to include the 9M high lift valvetrain installed in my 964RSR engine. With the current exchange rates, the heads are only slightly more expensive than buying a used set of 964 or 993 heads, porting them, resurfacing them, installing new valve guides, and doing a valve job.

So, are you able to do the +1/+2 9m conversions including the engine remap? If that's the case, when the time is right and car needs the work, I'll be in touch with you and Colin then....

I do not have the tools to remap the Motronics ECU. Everything else we have been doing. We are focused on MoTeC ECUs and primarily race cars.

Geoffry has an awesome car. You should see if you can post up a link to the article from Total 911 issue 46 on your site.
