Andreas,
If you have any more room. I'd love to order one. Thanks!

Manny,

The clock is real jewel and a prized, easy-to-read, must-have possession for any Porschephile.

Lawrence,
Thank's for posting the pic!

I'll need to give Round 3 some serious thought. Sourcing these mechanisms became increasingly difficult during Round 2. If I can find a reliable source with sufficient quantity, I'll go for it again. I'll keep track of interested parties until then.

Andreas - I just spent a pleasant hour soldering up the barrel connectors and plugging everything in. It works perfectly and looks fantastic. I may need to have my clock bezel replaced, as the one I sourced off ebay was not as 'perfect' as the seller stated... Please add me to the list for batch #3 (I'd take just the wooden surround / wiring again, and find my own mechanism). Thanks again for shipping the clock to England!
All the best.

dakargelb,
Thank you for the kind words - it was a true pleasure dealing with you. A picture is, of course, mandatory

Default I am in too

Andreas -

I would like a clock as well if you are still taking orders. I happen to have an extra set of guages and could send you my VDO clock gauge for my unit. How would this change my cost? When and where do I ship/pay?

Thanks

My very last wood blank took a trip overseas a few weeks ago. Unless I find a reliable source of clean & functional 964/993 clocks, the project will need to be shelved

Buying the mechanisms piecemeal on Ebay or dealing with charlatans such as LA Porsche Dismantler is simply not cost-effective. I may revisit this early next year, but simply have too much going on over the next few months to give another round any serious thought. Apart from the clock mechanisms, the other ingredients are now easy to come by.

I will update this thread if I'm able to make another round.

Not at the moment. I may give it another go next year as it would probably be difficult to source enough mechanisms right now.

But, Andreas, what about those sixty clocks you have stacked up in your garage???

j/k. His clock is really quite the jewel to have. Functional and stunningly beautiful all at the same time.
