Default Which Fog Lights for Turbo S Scoops?

Hey guys,

I have the Turbo S scoops with the useless driving lights and would like to change them out to usable fog lights. Have any of you guys done this upgrade? If so, what lamps did you change them to?

These are the scoops I have...

Will something like these work? Link to lights

Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am in the same situation where I am just getting the scoops painted and have removed the old lights. I will be looking around for ones that fit. I can always machine a spacer ring on my lathe to make a smaller light fit. I have done zero research so far and don't have the scoops here so I don't know how large the hole in the scoop housing is as compared to the outside diameter of the fog lights.

I might get to it in the next few weeks so anything you find out would be great!

Cheers,

Mike

I've been wondering whether these will fit:

They get great reviews in Europe and I've seen other ducts with these installed on ebay. Not sure how much customization is needed though.

Having tested the functionality of the lights on my new turbo s scoops I can attest to the need for more light. They are good as markers or daytime running lights but the barely visible yellowish aura they produce provide no usable light from behind the wheel at night.

I would like to do this too.. Maybe someone in SoCal will do a HID conversion day with a positioning light re-do at the same time.

SInce I have my ducts out I did some measurements. The hole is 48mm or 1 7/8" in diameter. This means we could accomodate a 50mm lamp but not much larger without a lot of rework.

These lights might just make it but the maximum size would be the 52mm, the 80mm is just too large.

After searching around here I found that most lights are too large. The smallest PIAA has appears to be about 60mm. I did find another choce for a 50mm ligh from Hella :

It looks like these would fit but the turbo duct would still have to be trimmed out a bit. The nose of the lamp would just be visible. There would have to be a mount built on the backside of the cover or mount the light to the bumper itself. Maybe the light can just be glued in. You can get driving lamps as well as fog lights. The descriptions is as follows:

Xenon and halogen versions available
High, low, and fog beam patterns allow you to select exactly the light you need High and low beams have optics-free lenses
Fog beam has same lens pattern as Micro DE lamps
All lamp are SAE approved for street use
All lamps supplied with mounting frame with 4-point attachment
All lamps feature decorative silver bezel

50mm Halogen Module
The family of 50mm Modules
Part No. Description
008390317 50mm Module Xenon, Main Beam, 12V
008390327 50mm Module Xenon, Main Beam, 24V
009071097 50mm Module Xenon, Low Beam, 12V
009071087 50mm Module Halogen, Low Beam, 12V
008090317 50mm Module Halogen, Fog Lamp, 12V
008090327 50mm Module Halogen, Fog Lamp, 24V

The Xenon ones ar very cool but expensive (around $390). The halogens are about $90. (from 4wheel offline web site - Lights )

Any other ideas?

Cheers,

Mike
