There is a silver 95 model 993 on E-bay buy it now $29000. that I want BAD. The problem , My wife does not see the sense in selling our Boxster "to buy an older car with more miles for more money."

Tell her it's an investment as the Boxter is depreciating at a much faster rate than a 993 and you were only thinking of your future financial needs.....................then throw yourself on the floor and beg, beg & BEG!!!!!

Worked for me.....LOL.............ZP44

Have you guys test driven one yet? That may seal the deal.

Good luck!

Must have installed Zimmerman rotors.
I like the Pss9's.
I like the twists.
I don't know if I buy his claim that the repaint was for "fading" Polar Silver.

That is a hard sell. Most of the reasons that we like are cars are somewhat subjective. If you compare performance the differences are not huge. If you compare safety, the Boxster may be a better vehicle (in general). What is left is more subjective in nature. Well, maybe you could talk about luggage space (they are different).

Does your wife drive the Boxster? If so, you might get her to drive a 993 and see if she can feel the reason why the 993 satisfies some inner needs that the Boxster can not (at least not as well).

In the end it is what satisfies the soul. It's an emotional thing. After all you choose your wife for that reason. There are millions of women out there and you fell in love with her and no one else will do.

At least I hope for your sake that is the case.

Now that I have seen it I say, "Screw it....divorce the wife and buy the car!"

Not really, but it sure seems to be a nice example of a 95, and with the Bilstein HD's already installed, you are about 2k ahead of the slippery slope. A good PPI would have me writing a check on the spot.

Go for it...................ZP44

And yes, I know I'm a bad influence.....................

How do you figure a boxster (with no roof) is safer than a 993 coupe?

Also, throw in the rare (but possible) required engine or transmission replacement of the boxster, and the 993 looks like a very cheap car to maintain by comparison.

It's easier to ask for foregivness than it is to ask for permission.

YMMV

Good luck.

Yes, that is the car I had mentioned! And I made the mistake of asking permission rather than begging forgivness.

You don't need to ask for permission - why are you afraid of your wife? You have one life on this earth, don't compromise your tastes to appease others. If you want it, go for it.

Its not that I'm afraid of her. I respect her. We are partners, and if she doesnt want me to spend $30000 on a toy, I have to respect that . I dont have to like it, but I have to respect it.
Its not like I dont already have a Porsche in the garage. I really enjoy the Boxster.
But Damn, I want that 993!

There is only one clear answer that will bring peace and happiness to you and your wife in the future.....keep "Her" Boxster and buy "your" 993! It might not seem so at first, but it will become THE WAY.....
