Ok my 2 cents. Yes some 993 owners are ********* (air jerks) and some 996 owners are ********* (wet jerks). As for the 996 vs 993 stuff, its all up to yor personal taste. I could have bought a 996. It's newer has some nice features. I did not. Why??? Because the 996 type of 911 is NOT attractive to me. Its well.....UGLY. No more sexy shape. The ugly cracked egg headlights. NO thanks. I guess that makes me a 993 ********!!! 
Bye the way I like the 997 type of 911. Guess why?? It has returned to the "classic" shape. The shape I fell in love with long ago.

In fact, I find that on the road when I wave to a fellow Porsche owner, the ONLY people who do not wave back are 996 owners....
Also, let's watch resale prices.... the last air cooled, prettiest porsche Porsche have ever made versus the mass produced, poorer quality 996....

Frankly the issue is in having the debate at all. I don't see how you can achieve any utility out of "proving" to a 996 owner that his car is inferior or whatever. Engaging in the debate on either side is being a ********. Period.
However, I will submit coroborating evidence for pcar964 about the boxster falling apart. That car was falling apart. It was sad. But, we don't need to marshal evidence for either side, because like I said having the debate at all is just being a ********.
I think I am going to spray paint "not an aircooled Porsche" on the side of my 951. Then not only will I be admitting my car is inferior, but I will be loosing the little bit of prestige I get from driving a Porsche. Since I care so much about whether other people notice what I am driving anyways.
