Default Groaning noise from front end...wheel bearings?

The front end (sounds like the passenger side) makes a groaning noise (under load) whenever i make a left turn. Possible wheel bearing going out? If i'm accelerating through the turn, no noise. When i'm driving normally, no noise. Only when the front passenger side is under load during a left turn is there a strange groaning noise. It's not the tire rubbing the fenders, i know what that sounds like and this is not it.

I recently had my pads/rotors replaced...you wouldn't be able to tell a bad bearing unless purposely looking/testing for it right?

Thanks for any insight guys.

Check your power steering fluid level.

First thing I would do is jack each wheel and see if there's any play, in any direction.

Check the power steering, okay will do.

If there IS play, what does that mean?

possibly a caliper sticking and the brake pad is dragging slightly. my 84 had that problem and it would occasionally "groan" in the turns. it would also appear after a brake pad change.

Maybe sway bar bushing(s). Is it more prevalent when the temp is colder? Does it groan going over speed bumps at a decent clip?

Hmm...the pad/caliper thing is possible since i did start noticing it after the brake job.

The noise seems to be independent of ambient temperatures. It does not groan over speed bumps or at speed. Just when the front is under load during a left hander. It doesn't even groan under hard braking.

As mentioned, check power steering fluid. If low, step two. What happened to the fluid? Need to check steering rack for for leaks.
