Unless you make a habit of driving 75mph in town! ha

So when exactly do you want your spoiler in the lowered position?

I have been thinking about the mod for you and so far I can only think of a manual cut off switch for the speed sending data line to the spoiler control module, so basically you would leave the circuit open with a switch so the SCM never receives the speed data that it has reached 50 mph...

Sounds pretty involved! Basically, I like to leave my spoiler up 90% of the time. It would be ideal if the system would not "reset" every time I start the car, which then reverts back to automatic up/down operation unless I manually hit it.

Well... with the manual speed signal interruption method that I was proposing it is fairly simple. Just hook up two wires to the switch and splice them into one of the SCM's wire....

I see what you're saying. I'll give it a shot this Sunday (when I get back from Daytona), and I'll start a new thread with pics. Thanks Robin!!

FYI,

I have '95 and unplugged the thing showed on the photo (& on Robin's DIY) when I installed RS wing and no warning light, no problems.

I unplugged mine 4 years ago when I put the aerokit tail on, and have had no problems.

If you want it up, all the time, with no warning light, then maybe the following would work...

Raise it up. Pull the plug. Jumper the pins.

Shouldn't that do it?

I think I got one of the last RUF units. It was a mod that I did not have to pay someone to do....LOL

That would definitely work - the only problem is, I still want to be able to lower the tail with the toggle switch in case I need to park outside (my car cover doesn't fit with the tail up). What I'm trying to say is, I want to have my cake, and eat it too

Just to confirm that I am not crazy, I disconnected the plug under the dash today as described on Robin's web site. And as I wrote in this thread, the cruise control stopped working. I don't understand why my 95 is different, but there it certainly behaves contrary to others on the forum. Could it be a design changover during the early production run?

Jim,

I checked the factory wiring schematics and I couldn't see there was any difference from a 95 and 96+
