So... what should I REALISTICALLY expect to pay...
Hi,
I have been reading Excellence, scanning ads nationwide, looking at KBB, etc, trying to figure out what I should realistically pay for a car of the following description (hypothetical only):
1995 993 C4 Coupe, say around 60,000 miles, all service done, not modded, not a creampuff either. Say, good to very good condition.
Same again for a 96.
How much should a guy pay for such a car? I see prices all over the map and am puzzled.
Thanks
Thaddeus

I'd expect $32k - $34k for a car like you described. You definitely shouldn't pay $35k+ for that mileage unless it has tons of options and upgrades. If you're patient you could find a good car bone stock for around $30k.
BTW, 1996 doesn't sell for any premium over 1995. Maybe just a little. Check this site:

Is 60K considered high?. My car has 62K and every time my independent sees it he always comments "It's just a Baby, barely broken in".
These cars are amongst the best ever built by Porsche. Don't ever forget that. If even "reasonably maintained", these cars are capable of ALOT of miles.
Just my .02 of course.................

I agree with Eric also. I recently bought a car like you are describing with a few less miles on it in that range. Not a creampuff but very well maintained. Good luck in the hunt.

Well I'll offer my purchase as a point of reference. 1996 with 58K on the clock, verry good (not perfect)condition with 60 mile service complete at a cost of $4,800. (Pwr steering pump, valve cover & timing chain cover gaskets, plugs, front and back trunk supports, etc.)
Paid $33k Nov of last year. Since then, $2,300 for new clutch.
