Default Almost new 255/40ZR17 SO3s - Value?

I have a set of Bridgestone Potenza SO3 Pole Position tires (255/40ZR17 94Y) that came with my car. These tires were new when I picked the car up in Seattle just over a month ago. They now have around 3,200 miles and are in great shape. The tires are evenly worn and have no cuts, no plugs, and no surprises.

I'd like to know some honest thoughts on what I should ask for these, as the Tire Rack lists these for $234 each.

I replaced the wheels and tires with an 18" package shortly after purchasing the car, so these have not been used for a few weeks.

I'd say about $100 each maybe more if you sell them locally. The shipping cost may discourage some potential buyers if you try to sell them in ebay or something.

I assume those are the size for the rears & that the fronts are 205/50ZR17.

FWIW, I know this isn't exactly the same but I bought a used set of 4 225 40 18 S03 Pole Positions for $300 that looked about like yours for my VW last year locally... seller said 3k miles.. and they served me well...

Edward,
Sounds great. They're yours free as long as you send me $300 to cover shipping costs.

I'll tell you what: if Edward doesn't want them, since you're agreeing that the tires are worthless, I'll take them off of your hands and not have to worry about the shipping costs at all.

Hoo hoo hoo!

Mark,
You are ever the consumate businessman. I'll tell you what - if Edward does not want them for the simple cost of shipping, I'll deliver the tires directly to your house - for $250. Sound good?

I just looked into the Maryland State rules & regulations (Sect. 5b, subsection 'D') regarding the sale of automotive equipment. It seems the state imposes a one-time transfer tax of $250 on a set of tires, regardless of size or condition.

Mark & Todd - feel free to discuss among yourselves.

Edward,
Unfortunately, different rules of engagement apply with Mark
