CDR 210 Question

The illumination lead goes to pin A6 and if you want the radio to light up when the lights are switched on and adjust for brightness, you need to tap power from the gray/blue ashtray light wire. This was the way Porsche did it at the factory when they ran short of the CR/CDR 210 radios during the 993 run and had to substitute the CR/CDR 220. There is a Porsche TSB on that here: http://www.pcarworkshop.com/index.ph...C_Parts_Guides See #5 in Body and Interior TSB's.
Do you have any clue on where I could connect the A6 pin to 12V powered when contact is On (even if Lights are Off) ?

Illumination for the CDR 210 is controlled by the radio's off/on switch. If you want to always have it illuminated, the radio's wiring would have to be modified and I have no solution for you.

I would like the radio to light up when the lights are switched Off or On, so I need to tap power from any place powered as soon as the car is on.
Hope I'm clear. Cheers.

OK, here is a diagram of the back of the radio:

Referring to Socket A, my CR 210 radio has connections to pins 4 (Permanent positive), 5 (Control output for automatic aerial/amplifier), 7 (Switched positive) and 8 (Earth).
You can tap +12 V from the leads to pins 4 or 7. But my radio illumination is controlled by its Off/On switch.

Once again, many thanks to take care of me ![bowdown](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bowdown.gif)
So, it means that I can tap +12 V from the leads to pin 7 : it will not be a pb to power both the radio AND the screen with the same only one switched 12V ?
Another question please, what do you mean when stating '... my radio illumination is controlled by its Off/On switch' ? which switch do you refer to ?
Sorry for being such a dummy !

Not a good idea as the lighter is always powered even when you are out of the car. Run a wire to the ignition switch or even beter, if there I a power amp control pin on the radio use it.
