Robert - I assume that thing above your center console switches is a Sat radio controller? If so is this a thin unit that is mounted on top of the carpet, or did you have to cut/modify your console piece? I notice there is a vertical reinforcement bar behind the console and I was wondering if I could cut it. Thanks.

I'm thinking of eventually getting GT3 seats as I'm slowly modifying my car
to "sort-of" RS clone. I've done the suspension, clutch/LTW flywheel and shift
mechanism. For seats I don't think I'll find RS seats and I think the GT3
seats would be a fine substitution. How do you like them for comfort and
use on the street? BTW I like the red belts, they look pretty good.

The seats are a bit of a challenge to get in and out of... to avoid scratching the door sill with shoes you need to kinda' lift yourself in & out of them. Once in, however, they are comfortable. I've got a lower back issue & the seats are extremely supportive. You are "locked in" when you take an aggressive corner. Plus they only weigh 7 lbs or so (not counting the sliders).

Ron, thanks for the info. I just did the shifter / mechanicals so the seats
will have to wait for a while. It's next on my list though.

Mklaskin - OK - I'm an idiot. What are the double lever thingies
coming out of the box bolted to the floor to the right of the shifter?

I think Atgani wins. How can you beat a factory lightweight RS?

And where is the fellow doing the RS clone presently - it should be in this
thread also. I think he said he'd be posting more pics soon.

David,
No need to cut anything. That is the unit called the XM Commander. There is only one thin wire that runs to the readout and goes from the readout to the unit stuck behind the dash. There is a separation in the console unit where you can stuff a thin wire into so it totally disappears.

I was really happy with that install as the wire itself being stuffed behind the console would hold the display perfectly in place. That is also a very inconspicuous place to mount it, yet it was easily seen.

I think the unit runs for about $99 - $129 plus the install. Had mine done at CIrcuit City, believe it or not. Actually did a great job.

I'll post more pics if I can figure out how to downsize them. All my pics are 1 meg or more with the digital canon.

Killer pics, John D II. You have convinced me to go the CF route. I still want to make sure the gauge piece from Marcus wraps all the wya underneath like the factory part does. It just seems like you would be able to see where it stops if it doesn't.
