Default Finally got the curb rash fixed on 18" twist rear wheels - worth every penny!!!

Looks like new! You don't have to go to a special wheel shop to have this done. I just went to my regular body shop, Euro Pros in Gaithersburg, MD after getting a referral from some Rennlisters. I used them in the past and was happy. I was hesitant at first to spend the bucks to get it done as let's face it, we constantly keep f**king up our wheels if we live in the city! But after a trip to the bank drive-through window last month where I scraped the living "you know what" out of the driver's side rear wheel on their tight cement curb, I decided that if ONE more thing happened to the car, then maybe I'd have it fixed. Well, after backing out of my garage and onto my yard a few times over the last month I realized I messed up the rear bumper a bit because of the angle of the yard, so I finally took in the car to be fixed. He quoted my $150 per wheel to fix them "as new", and of course I was skeptical. He said that the most noticeable wheels on the car are the rear wheels, so I just said to go ahead. I knew if I slipped this wheel fix in under the aupices of the bumper repair, my wife would never know . She told me many times that "they're NOT that bad" and didn't really want me to spend the money on getting them fixed. They offered to touch up the front wheels as well as best they could where they chipped. They are the 18" stock C4S wheels.

$140 for the bumper and $170 each for each rear wheel ($20 per wheel extra to take the bead off the tire to remove the tire?!?) . I got it back today, and I was blown away - they look like perfectly new wheels, at a fraction of the price. If you wondered how you were going to have to send your wheels off to one of those specialty wheel places like Wheel Worx, being totally inconvenienced in the process, you don't need to! Just find a great body shop in your area to do it.

Not affiliated with Euro Pros - just a happy customer, again! Jack's great there - he really aims to please. Not like they need any new business - they're always busier than he** when I go there

I've cringed every time I saw my rear wheels this past year or 2... now I don't have to for a while, till the next time I hit that dreaded curb. You KNOW I'm going to more careful now!

I knew you'd want these. You guys are so demanding

No photos needed, really. Let me do a visual for ya, in type: Picture a crummy looking wheel with pits, scars, and a scrape halfway around the whole freakin' thing near where the tire is from hitting that curb. Now picture this: 4 days later, getting back the car and it looks like a brand new wheel! Yes, brand NEW!

That's what I'm talkin' about .

OK - I don't have any before shots, but I GUESS I could go out into the garage and take the "after" shot, but that's a pain right now as I'm busy. It'll basically show a wheel that looks brand new - truly!

Do I STILL have to take that darn pic?

Lazily yours,
Steve

we have a place here that specializes in this and it costs $129 per wheel.. they even pick up and drop off included in the price... they have amazing before and after photos and people around here have nothing but praise... so I can believe it!

I just had my wheels done by Wheel Worx in Millersville, MD. I needed rubber ripped off and disposed, no new rubber going on (sold wheels on Ebay), trued and checked for round, stripped, filled curb rash, painted inside and out for about $125 per wheel. Super quick turnaround and beautiful work. I highly recommend them.

Steve, I saw your car there while I was picking up my 993 last Thurs. Jack did the same thing for one of my 5-spoke wheels, which got bent on a pothole on Foxhall Rd. I'm pretty sure he sends the wheels out to a place in Laurel. But as my "new" 993 will attest, Euro Pros' work is second to none.
