Thumbs up Pics of new audio system and an afternoon with Mr meguiare

I've promised to post some pictures from my new audio system so here they are...

Front speakers: Focal polykevlar 165K2
Rear speakers: Boston (not important but you must change the paper nokia's)
Amp: Soundstream Van Gogh 500.4
Bass: Infinity Bazooka

The difference is just amazing compared with the stock one. This really is a high end audio system for a high end car.

Enjoy and if you guys have any questions feel free to ask

I also included some pictures after 4 hours work with meguiare products

Sweet ride. Nice touch with the rennlist decal. People who didn't know any better assume its some racing team or something. What is a "vesuvio" - paint color?

Rkass: Vesuvio is the name of the paint color

Is the sub bolted down or can it be removed? If it's bolted, how did you attach it?

Thanks

Rare color for 993. I was told that the door handles and side mirrors were painted a matt silver on that color ONLY. It appears yours are tone on tone. I guess he was wrong. Car looks great and I love the offset split grill color, nice.

I would assume that the lack of the contrasting gray pieces is due to the european build or a special order. Quoting from previous posts regarding vesuvio 993s in the United States:

.
Vesuvio gray metallic was the color in which the '97 Carrera S was introduced. There was no limited production based on this color. Here's what Porsche said when they released the '97 models:

"Exclusive to the 911 Carrera S, there is also a special color "vesiviometallic" which is available at no extra charge. With this body color, the exterior mirrors, door handles, spoiler grille, wheel spokes as well as the "Carrera S" lettering on the rear lid are painted steel gray."
It doesn't appear that US customers were offered the chance to skip the contrasting grey bits -- although porsche's special wishes department would probably do it if properly motivated. What is curious is that this is painted on a C2, not a C2S, so either its a repaint or maybe the europeans got ahold of this color before the US and/or were provided with more options regarding which pieces received the contrasting grey paint. I dunno -- but its nice to see another Vesuvio. They are quite rare

Chuck: The sub can simply be removed.

Temple, Mnmblu: This was a car direcltly from the porsche's special wishes department, it's a unique C2 with the 3.8 engine specially built for D'ieteren Belgium.

You chose some fine audio components Delanobe.

Thought you had the S air intakes fitted a short while ago?

Hi Monique,

I installed the S air intakes when my car was repainted.
Why are you asking?

Interesting Sub placement. I have been trying to decide what route to go. Which size of the Bazooka tubes did you use? Do you find this intrudes on the passenger foot space? Thanks for the info.

Hi Keith,

The sub doesn't intrude the passenger foot space at all. It's a 10" Bazooka tube.
