Guess what, gang? I just purchased this car sight unseen!!!! Based on seller's description, it's a great car for the price so I made the deal. Hope it's not turn out "too good to be true". My next step is PPI so any recommendations on reliable PPI shop in/around Dallas area? Also I was wondering if any Rennlisters lives in the area and has little time available to take a look before PPI I'd really appreciate it. Please PM me.

Thanks,
Pguy.

Have the PPI done at Zim's Autotechnik...... www.allzim.com

Call and ask for Wayne........ He knows a lot about 993s

I wish I had a spare $35k to ge this car.

You can't go wrong with Wayne.

BTW, the car is for sale from a PCA member here in Dallas.

Zims is great for older 911 but not 993s IMO. I would use Boardwalk Porsche and speak with Cliff. I first would contact Park Place and ask specifically whether any bodywork was performed on the car. I had a PPI performed at Park Place and after they were finished with the PPI they said "by the way, the 993s been in an accident and we repaired it." They should have told me that first. Good luck!

couldnt agree more with this statement....

nothing against Zims, but I have also heard that they are better with the older Porsches.

when i bought my 993 S and wanted a PPI in Dallas, I called around and talked to a lot of different PCA and Rennlist people...they pretty much all recommended Cliff at Boardwalk Porsche for the PPI...

I've heard good things about that guy at Boardwalk but they can be VERY pricey...quoted me $480 for a valve adjustment. They are a first class, high volume dealer. I've used Louden Motorcars for years and one of their ex mechanics started his own shop called Dallas Eurosport and he'd done some good work for me. They are near I 35 and Walnut Hill if that helps.

I made a PPI appointment w/ Boardwalk Porsche next Wednesday. Cliff told me since the car with this low milage and if it has been well maintained then compression and leakdown test might not be necessary. Your opinions?

Thanks,

Do you know anything about the person you're buying the car from? There are a lot of scammers around the area. How long has he owned the car - also have you run a carfax.

Based on how you purchased the car, I would have everything possible checked out and chalk it up as cheap insurance. Also, are you going to be provided with the full service history? If so, I'd make purchase contingent on that, too.

Nope, he wasnt.

But one of the other porsche technicians did, and turned out installed it perfectly. Problem wasnt the suspension or installation, problem was ride height.

Pot shot all you want... Cliff has been featured in Panorama and is a very well respected PCA guy.

jw97C2S,
Personally I don't know anything about the seller. He seems decent and pleasant to talk you. Also he's a PCA member. He owned this car since new, bought it at Park Place Porsche and has all service records. I asked him to email me the option codes and here's what he gave me: C02233398437438445454G50 instead of seperated out like this C02 233 398 437 438 445 454 G50.

kkim,
Seller told me has all service records. Also Cliff @Boardwalk can also contact Park Place and pull it out. Regardless, I'll try to look over everything before closing the deal. Hope for the best.

Thanks,
-Pguy
