Robert must be out playing with his new toy.. I know I would be.

Here is his thread about the skirts... I like them too and just had a set delivered last week from Gert.

Sorry, Robert... not me. No cover here. You must be delirious from the TT.

Leland,
Just read that post Kelly found. The bottom line is they are Porsche OEM side skirts made for a NB 993, and I got them from Gert. They are awesome and really make the car look fantastic. It lowers the overall look of the car and accentuates the hips of the car IMHO.

ViperBob, thanks for your help as well. I got a lot more thorough PPI thanks to the questions you told me to ask, although I came out of pocket over a grand to get the type of inspection I asked for. The only question I have is that there is a sound coming from the rear of the car under full acceleration and it chimes around 4,000-6,000 rpm. It 's a metallic sound, like a wheel well rubbing a tire, but I know that is NOT it. Do turbos, wastgates, intercoolers, whatever make an unusual sound under full acceleration?

I may get shot for saying this.....red is not usually my favorite color (maybe 'cause it got so overplayed in the 80's), but that freakin' car is just gobs of cool red and all! They truely are a sexy car, enjoy it and be safe!

Thanks again guys for all the comments!! I am in Heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mrsullivan,
You ought to see Mike's historical book of everything he's ever owned. He's had over 100 cars, at least 30 of them old corvettes. He has also had many, many Porsches and loves cars with a true passion for them. He's a great guy to talk cars with because he has so many stories and you can just tell he appeciates every one of them.

993inNC, I understand where you are coming from. I have never been a fan of Speed Yellow, but I saw a friend's 993 Turbo S in SY the other day, and it was flat out beautiful. You may not want to own it, but you appreciate how cool it is!!

Robert- awesome car! I saw your earlier post when you were thinking about it, but didn't expect you'd do it so quickly.

Mike- glad you were the one who bought the cars.

My car goes down to Memphis next weekend for PSS9s, TRG sways and new wheels.

As the weather breaks, we'll all have to have a 993 "conference"

Brendan, that sounds awesome. I just have to get used to all this damn power.

You remember how well I knew my cab on those back roads, and how fast I could drive it because of it? You thought Greg and I were crazy the way we were hanging turns!! (god that was fun). Anyway, I'll be the guy in last for a few weeks or months until I get used to the power this thing has. It is SCARY fast, and I don't plan on meeting any trees or telephone poles anytime soon.

I've already had the back end get loose on me in second gear under acceleration in a turn. Let's just say I understand the power it has, and I appreciate it. I'm just not sure what the hell to do with all of it yet!!! :-) I'll get there.....

Robert, goofy question for you....

if possible, can you find out what wax/polish the previous owner (or maybe you?) put on that car before these pics? that's about the wettest imile deep gloss have ever seen guards red look and i am curious... my guess is that its a good carnuba.... the synthetics (ie. zaino) usually look more sterile than that...

I'll check on the wax for you. Funny thing is, he said he had not waxed it in six months, but then he only drove it 500 miles a year in the sunshine!

I'll see what I can find out for you.
