Default Ceramic Rotor Failure?

Saw these pics on another forum.

Was the ceramic rotor the cause or the result?

Wonder if this persons insurance agent has grey hair yet? Or should I say GT Silver hair...

Looks to me that the car got loose and he hit something with that wheel.

I have to agree with Steve due to the area of the damage relative to that corner. Bummer happening really..

The impact is isolated and fairly severe. Looks like a telephone post or similar.

Ouch! That will cost the GDP of a small country to fix. Hmmm... the owner propably owns a couple of those too.

Ouch...Those pics are hard to look at. Sort of like watching a horror movie.

Hope that wasn't Leno's car!

If there was a passenger, they are counting their blessings right now.

it's remarkable how straight the chassis is after that hit - looks like a good bit of speed and a metal pole.
shark bite - ouch i wonder if the chassis will be repairable or if it is stress fractured (meaning totaled) - it will have to be x-rayed to be sure.

Here is a picture from the Carrera GT production line display in Leipzig. We can see the three different carbon parts of the chassis. If the car is not completely written off, I could imagine Porsche replacing the rear part only. But is the chassis damaged? I'd really like to know the end of that story.

if it is just eh rear section it should be repairable - actually it is probably 100% reparable i t jsut depends on which sections are replaced. 150K-300K for a fix
