Default Broke My Cherry.....

The proverbial DE cherry that is. Can't add much to what has already been said about this experience. It was incredible !!!
Despite considerable nerves each time out on the track, the C4S and I held up fine. The car was rock solid and I learned more than I ever could during street driving.

To boot, there were a few Ferrari Challenge and Porsche Cup cars there. Nothing more intoxicating than hearing and seeing these beasts burn by the VIR tower at 150 ++. Amazing.

A few pics....

Keith,

I was at VIR's South Course on Friday doing a Formula Mazda testing day. It looked like ya'll were going to have beautiful weather on Saturday. Did you see the Carrera GT, Murcielago, and SLR tooling around the paddock area? I would have loved to see them take to the track.

Hi Anir.......the DE event was held over Columbus Day weekend a few weeks ago. I must say if I saw the cars you mentioned......I think I would have rathered to oogle and aah over them in lieu of driving.

Thanks Mike !! Already lookin' for a chance to get back out there again.....

Congrats, Keith. VIR looks like a great facility. Which club did you run with?

Thanks Rich...

The event was sponsored by Euroclassics Porsche (Dealer), Shenandoah Valley PCA Club and the folks at cdoc.... www.cdoc.com.

They had a big name driver there, can't recall his name but he won Lemans in the early 80's I think someone said......big dude....6ft4 at least. I couldn't believe he fit in that 996 Cup Car.

Plenty of instructors around all day to talk with and drive with. They really did a great job initiating the new folks to the track.

I can see why it's your favorite track Mark......the setting is beautiful. We had access to the full 3.2 mile course so it seemed like I was out there forever.

I loved the Oakwood Tree snap corner and the downhill S curves scared the **** outta me !! As each lap passed I could feel the confidence in myself and the car building....no doubt a contributing factor to the addictive feeling of wanting to do this again.

Our Porkers are never a problem on the track. However, we cannot say the same about the "schmucks" behind the wheel.

Tracking my P is more mental than anything else. I love it!!

Glad you liked it too... another conversion.

Scott youre right. I just picked on you cause thats the way I feel before a MX race. I did not get too
worked up about driving my car because I knew I wouldnt short jump any of the doubles
as there are no double jumps, AND the chance of me going to the ER was much less than on
the MX track.
