OT: 10 days from now maybe the one of the saddest days ever...
To make a long story short my wife and I have been talking about buying a new house. Unfortunately it is slightly out of our budget due to my extra hobbies including the P-car. So after a great deal of discussion an arguing she decided that the boat and the car had to go in order to move to a "nicer" area near me, St.Albans. Personally I am happy where I am at but we need more room with #2 on the way. So I have decided to put the car up for sale I am advertising on Ebay and will soon ad to classifieds.
The bad thing is I JUST GOT IT THE WAY I WANTED!! Well maybe it won't sell and if it does I will buy a different one a couple years down the line possibly. Thanks for all your help and sorry it was short lived.

Sell the boat man !! The happiest days of a boat owner is the first and last day that they own it.

I have an agreement with my wife that if we do need the extra cash to move into a nicer home in a few years, I will sell the C4S. Hopefully, I can work my a$$ off in the next couple of years to avoid that.
Sorry to hear but as my wife likes to say, better to be in a nice house with average cars than an average house with nice cars.

And all things being equal, best to want what you have, and be happy with it....I'm pretty damn happy in my "average" house and my fine 993.

This is a recurring issue with every wife in the world. I'm convinced of that. Our house is for sale because my wife wants a bigger house too. I tell her that she has a hard time keeping the house we have clean so what motivation do I have to get a bigger house. That never goes over too well.

I'll say something like that when she says I spend too much on cars. She is pretty tolerant overall.

You know the problem with the wifes is that while they want their own 993's they want it in a form of bricks and cement. Problem is that their "993" costs too much...That conversation floated in my home a while ago but it was short lived as the price difference was the price of a good Ferrari...so the deal is fine you want to sell the 993 we will split the difference 20 for you 20 for me...20K does not buy the large house though
What gets me though is that people (mostly women) expect the other half to change and be more understanding... Well my view is , you married me for who I'm and I did the same. And it was clear my passion for the P-cars from the get go, so dont ask me to give up my dream to fullfill yours... How would you like me to do the same with you??? That argument is pretty powerfull and so far its working...Now, for how long I really do not know
Good luck GTR, hopefully everything will work out for you.

Danny, couldn't agree with you more. However, some wives have an ace up their sleeves, kids. Bigger house for the kids, more room for the kids, yard for the kids, good school district for the kids, good neighborhood kids for the kids.
It's a powerful arguement, that's for sure!

We live in a great neighborhood now with the best school district in the area. It just so happens her friends bought and are in the process of buying newer, bigger houses taking advantage of the interest rates.
I personally could live in my house for another few years but in the back of my mind this may be a great opportunity to step up to a much larger house with the great rates right now. My house right now is 2600 sf. for another $400 per month I can move upto 3200-3500 sf which is a lot more room.
Selling this car is really punching me in the nuts though. (excuse my expression) I have put so much time into this car and not to mention so much money it really hurts selling this car. It is like a museum peice to me I don't even have to drive it I can just wander down to the garage and sit at my desk and stare at it. Who would think you could like a car this much? Whoever said sell your wife...you may be onto something there.

That's a good idea but I am a Sr. Project Manager for a developement company and I drive my SUV on commercial, residential and private projects that are not in great shape. I wish I could drive the P-car to work but it would be impossible. My wifes car is paid for and she needs it for the couple of days she works and to toe the kid around. I'm SOL, the boat I can do without I can always rent one if I need to, it sits at the lake most of the time anyway with my work schedule.

suggesting that Greg 'sell his wife' is absolutely disgusting now, if he were to pay someone to take her, that would be acceptable max
