One thing is for sure: It cost the heck of a lot less than a 3.8L conversion and brings much, much more for my particular needs. (I would reckon subjectively at least 3 times more)

It sounds very good!
Do you intend to publish some ref. timings?

I feel a need from some fans to travel to Lugano to see the "beast"

Have fun Phil!

Actually, no. The only thing I came close to doing is a simulation on the cartestsoftware package, which has been mentioned on this thread, it really seems to offer some useful results. I did do a comparision of acceleration times between a stock C4S and mine with just the shorter gear ratios, and came up with 5.5 seconds versus 5.0 seconds. But these are just fun games IMHO (which admittedly I like doing), the real test is when you actually sit in the car and drive it.

How far off was the camshaft timing? Did you have reason to believe it was off before checking it?

I bet its an amazing drive. What would you say is the "feel" difference between the g50/21 euro gearing and your custom Rennsport gearing? If I remember correctly you had kept 5th gear and moved it to 6th in your new setup?
When you write 50hp difference, in what part of the rpm range do you really feel that "50 hp" difference?
Thanks alot.

How do you like the steel synchros?

Steel Synchros? You went with Steel Synchros? Not on the first two gears did you? I understand that if you grind steel synchros they are done.

Awesome news! I just knew it would be a beast!

Here's more cartest 'in theory' info from another thread, compares VRAM, non VRAM, 993RS's setup, E46 M3 as a reference, etc etc. Interesting numbers. BTW 993RS if you'd like the dat file with the cars i worked up, just let me know and I'll email it to ya.

Yes, the throttle response was sluggish. The ideal valve opening is 1 mm. The measurement showed: left cylinder bank 0.84 mm and right cylinder bank: 0.92 mm.

The feel difference was twice as good as when I did the G50/21 conversion on my last car. Yes, my old 5th gear is now my new 6th gear.

I really feel what seems like 50 hp more through the whole rev range. The car was a bit slow in 2nd gear in the lower rev range up to about 3500 revs. Now it starts pulling from the very start. Plenty of low end torque. Above 4000 revs though, it really kicks in...

I really don't recognize the car anymore. I find it just as responsive and fast as a 997 Carrera S...

Phil,
What about the synchros? What gears are they in, how do they feel, and how do you like them?

I went with steel synchros on 2nd through 6th, as recommended by Steve W.

Yes, by all means, thanks!

They measure the valve opening at the dead point by installing a pair of mechanical valve lifters for the measurement. Ideal opening is 1 mm, as I mentioned above.
