In Porsche's official Tequipment catalog, there are a number of aerokits offered. The one shown above, as far as I know, is the Techart aerokit. It is called "Aerokit I 911". There is an "Aerokit Ib 911" version which has the third brake light installed on the rear spoiler lip. In addition there are the "Aerokit RS Clubsport 911", "Aerokit GT2 911", "Aerokit RS 911" plus aerokits for the 993TT.

Thanks for the info guys.
Does anyone know the option codes for the various aerokits?
How hard is it to remove the rear wing and replace it with an extending rear spoiler?

You wrote, "How hard is it to remove the rear wing and replace it with an extending rear spoiler?" I confess I had it done "professionally...removed the extending rear spoiler. If I had to do it over again, I would buy a deck lid, attach the fixed spoiler to the deck lid in the event I ever wanted to go back to the extended. If you do it that way initially swaping the lids back and forth is no big deal. The spoiler not deployed light needs to be shut down when you go to a fixed wing.
Go to http://www.carnewal.com and look for the 993 aero kits. There are three (3) as mentioned above. The Aero Kit 1, without the 3rd brake light, and the Aero Kit 1B with the thrid brake light in the wing. I can't be certain the side skirts are on this web site. Also note, you can buy Aero Kit 1 or 1B from your Porsche Dealer. Don't have a coronary when the bill for the front splitters and rear wing is >$3,000 US. But don't fret, the side skirts are cheap, about $300.
Then there is the 993RS Aero Kit that is installed on my car. I got the front splitters and side skirts from http://www.carnewal.com I bought an aftermarket fiberglass tail in the US. You'll pay over $3,000 for this kit, front splitters, side skirts and rear wing, as well, but no US sales tax. There is extensive aero data available on this wing, at speed. I cannot speak to aero data on the Aero Kit 1 and 1B.

There were a few different factory installed aerokits:
Y01 - Narrow body aerokit I front and rear spoilers
Y02 - Narrow body aerokit II front and rear spoilers with rocker panels as pictured above
Y75 - Widebody aerokit front and rear spoilers similar to Turbo S spoilers

There are aftermarket spoilers designed to fit in the area where the retractable spoiler goes. AFAIK, Porsche's aerokit spoilers come with their own deck lids. Shouldn't be too much trouble to install either way.

Aerokit 1, part# 000 044 800 28.
Aerokit 1b, part# 000 044 800 29 w/3rd brake light,part# 000 044 800 27.
I had fitted the Aerokit 1 to my C4 and it was fairly easy. Total time about 3 hours.
If you want to fit Aerokit 1b, you need to connect the 3rd brake light which I don't think would be more than 1/2 hour in addtion...

I am actually thinking of buying a car with an aerokit and putting the extending spoiler back on the car. I may keep the side skirts and front splitter.

When I purchased the Aerokit 1, I was told that the side skirts were not included in the kit.
The narrow body Aerokits don't come with lids. I think only the widebody Aerokits come with the lids(one piece with wing?)
Also, there might be a better chance for you to find a widebody car with an Aerokit from the factory than narrow body car(just my guess). But if the front splitters are what you want to keep, you can always get them aftermarkets...

Viken, I shopped for factory Aero Kit 1 and 1B, as well as the 993RS. The deck lids were not included to the best of my knowledge...but maybe they are and that is why the kits are so bloody expensive. THe 993RS tail from Gert, just the tail is $2,000, and some tail it is.
Advice...aftermarket tails will takes some serious prep before they are ready for paint. Don't buy an aftermarket fiberglass piece unless the seller agrees to give you your money back if it does not fit...I was lucky with the aftermarket tail...the fit and finish was of good quality, the receptacle for the air intake grill was a bit too wide, but there is a way around that.
The 993 RS tail gets the car to 0 lift on the rear at 170 mph...
Also you can get the US Tequipment Catalog from your friendly Porsche Dealer, literature # WVK 165 523 00 US/WW Pioneer Porsche Parts Dept in San Doego had them a while back. I am in their Monday and will see if they have any copies left.

Other than the Turbo and Turbo S tails, I do not know which other version has an integrated deck lid. However, I did know that the factory RS tail bolts right onto the stock lid. Am I correct?

I think Turbo S tail is 1 piece with lid, Turbo tail is bolt on(per Robin), so are Aerokit 1(B) and RS tails. All factory tails, I might add...

No, neither Turbo tail is a bolt-on for the stock lid. They need the room for the intercooler. As such, they come with their own deck lids.

Don' have a Turbo, don't know...
Maybe the Turbo tail lid has a bigger openning for the intercooler and the tail is still bolt on???
Didn't Robin buy just the Turbo "tail" ???
