Post Upgrading oil cooling

As a result of an accident, I need a new oil cooler.

Any thoughts on upgrading cooling capability while I'm in there??

Thanks

It's going to be real tough to "better" the factory oil cooler. However you can add another cooler on the drivers side if you feel you need it.

These are all aux. coolers though, right? So I'm hearing nothing better to REPLACE stock, but plenty to AUGMENT? Is that a fair assessment?

Thanks as always for your help.

As has been written, the factory cooler does a fine job, most likely adequate for most people. People who track their cars in the West in the summer months, have reported higher than desirable oil temps, and some have gone to auxillary coolers.

I have a friend who recently installed the Cargraphic cooler on his TT car. He reports that it does degrade air conditioner performance, but the car does run cooler. He upgraded from the Turbo S cooler.

I know of two other San Diego guys who recently had an additional stock cooler piggybacked to the priginal cooler. The work was done at Mind over Motorsports in San Diego 858 483 2482. I have heard that this set up works well.

I have the Turbo S cooler installed...as my friend Larry A. pointed out to me, the Turbo S cooler is 20% of the size of the stock cooler, don't expect miracles.

I did add the oil cooler fan override switch. When in traffic, I turn on the switch and oil temps drop to below the first hash mark, where I like to see them.

In closing, I like the Cargraphics dual Turbo S cooler set up...but I am certain it is very expensive.

Any reason you cant just bolt in the cargraphic aux cooler in place of the stock one??? Seems pretty reasonable to me...

Not sure but the mounting points might be different since the Cargraphics one piggy backs the condensor. I bet it is a fair bit more expensive as well. The RSR cooler I bought for my car was ~$400.

Thanks guys!

OEM is only a few hundred bucks...

Looks like I'll stay stock for now.

Might upgrade to the Turbo/C4 nose though...

I just bought a new oil cooler and the cost was $287.26 from my dealer. The list price is $367.06, but I get a pca discount.
