My 993 club racer project update pics
So it has been an extremely busy week for me working with my mechanic to set up the car for this weekend DE which is my last chance to test the car on the track before my first race. Last night we almost finished stage one and I took some pics which you can see here:
My 993 club racer project pics
So far we have done the following mods to a bone stock 1995 993 coupe and we aim to run "D" stock at PCA club racing events for this year:
1. RSR coilovers with the Racer's Group monoballs and ajustable sways ( thanks Graig for the tip)
2. New rotors front and back with Pagid Orange pads.
3. ATE blue brake fluid.
4. RS splitters from MA Shaw. Good quality but need prep work to mount them.
5. RSCS factory tail without the top element which came of my cab.
6. EVO 2 Sparco's. A huge pain to install if you want them far back and low like I did. They are wide and try to throw the inner nuts to bolt the seat on the adjustable base...It took me a good hour and a lot of nusty words ( it helped!LOL)
7. Momo Porsche motorsports wheel ( tks Gert) which looks and feels great but the horn does not work now and I need a solution fast...
8. Scroth 6 point harnesses which are fantastic.
9. Autopower roll bar (thanks Glen) which securely bolts in the car at 6 points on each side.
10. Momo battery cut off switch with a pull wire on the outside.
11. BK Krause fire system and mount, back seat brace.
Also I have not decided if I should go with straight RSR cat back pipes for the race of plunge and get Fab Speed supercups...
The list of remaining mods is long and expensive so I'm not sure if I will pull the trigger this time around. They include the wonderfull monoball links from Steve, plus Moton clubsport shocks...
That's all for now! I will report this weekend how all these stuff work! Wish me luck!

Sounds great! Keep updates coming.
Steering wheel horn:
I got instructions from Eric in Chicago (Thanks eric!), I have the same wheel:
You will need to order Porsche part # 964 652 104 00. This is a small L shaped part that has a copper plate on top of it and a 1/4 pin on the bottom. This part pushes into the hole on the steering column face, there is only one hole, it is at the 1'O'clock position it looks like a slot with a hole in the middle. This contact will allow the brass plate on the bottom of the Momo 7004 hub adapter to make contact thus completing the circuit when the horn is pushed

Finn, thanks for the tip! Eric, I wanted the GT2 brace but Gert is out of stock, so I wait for him... I did not want to spend the money on a strut brace that i would eventually change...

When's your race again?
If your strut brace is not in by then, you can borrow mine off the funhawg (which is waiting for the salt to depart the midwest).

Wow looks great Danny. Love the red wing . How are the RSRs in comparison to the H&R suspension?
I'm getting the curb rash and bends on my rims fixed and the centers repowdercoated in gunmetal right now. Also I'll be stripping the interior of any sound padding and removing some of the carpeting next week (haven't decided on the stereo yet). I'll post some pics of that when its done.

I'm also getting ready to do more stripping & would be intersting to see photos.
P.S. Dumb the stereo! Those speakers (especially if you have hifi option, like I do) are heavy!

Lookin' awesome Danny! Sorry I won't have the opportunity to be out there this weekend. I will look forward to a ride though! I had the TRG RSR setup on my '95 car as well, but I sold it with the car. I hope TRG worked out the collar issue with the front sway bars. It was rather annoying!

Thanks for the well wishes guys...I'm completely and utterly frustrated right now... Tonight we were in the final stages of fine tuning and aligning the car only to have the right front tie rod arm completely freeze up
So I need to find asap the following parts:
993 347 131 01 Ball Joint
900 034 024 07 Hex Nut
993 347 031 03 Tie rod
If the local dealers do not have them tomorrow morning there are no runs for me on the track
I'm completely miserable...

Three Wheelin'
Glen Gatlin may also have these parts (he has everything) but he is in Dallas... He posts under Glen on our board and just had some 993 parts for sale early this week
