Default A real "rumble" at Buttonwillow Oct 1->3. Post your interest

See www.speedventures.net

Apparantly a good group that's hosting an event at Buttonwillow Oct 1->3 (yes, Friday, Saturday, Sunday). I'm proposing that Rennlist make a concerted effort to show up at this event and overwhelm all the Vipers and what not. We can do a "North vs South" rumble, and see how many of those wimpy NorCal guys actually show up this time.

Please post here if you are pretty sure you will make the event. I'll get an idea of our attendance, and then contact Speed Ventures and try to wrangle a group rate.

Come on you guys... you have Porsches... use them or lose them. And as Scott Mellor said... you'll get the automotive equivilent of "blue *****" if you don't get your car out to the track evey once in a while!

I beleive blue ***** is from over use not under use, but seeing as Scott is an engineer I can see
where he got confused!

oldguy,

Trust me on this one... its an under use condition. But that's just an aside... are you signing on for the rumble? Its right around the corner from ridgecrest.

They haven't yet posted details of the configuration or the cost for the event... usually there is a price for one day, two days, and three days. Based on their event at Streets of Willow, they charged $200 for two days. This is very reasonable. Plus, I may be able to get a group rate, if we have lots of participation. But the response to this thread so far is surprisingly poor.

These events are most fun when we have our Rennlist buddies joining in.

Sounds like a great time but I would not put myself in a position to argue with my insurance co. re coverage. That issue may have cooled some interest.

Steve,

$200 for two days is very reasonable! I'm interested, but not for Friday. Will you be trying to get the full track (both loops)?

Fred,

I hear ya about the insurance. It sounds like, however, that fewer and fewer DE events don't have some timing, and could be construed as competitive events. However... if someone can find a non-competitive DE event at Buttonwillow (to try to attract our norcal brethern), please let me know. I'm way open to ideas.

Edward,

I hope they run the full course, but its their event not mine. If we have lots of participation, perhaps we could influence their decision. BTW, I tend to be a one-day, perhaps two day sort of guy. Sat & Sun sounds like plenty.

haha, I will have my new motor done intime, but probably not broke in. Will this be on the streets of willow? In that case I could bring my GTI. It could hand a Viper its *** on plate LOL,( I **** off a-lot of M3 owners) they haven't figured out too much torque and rear wheel drive with all the weight on the front wheels makes for a lot of fun on a tight track. my feather weight would own them. I cant wait untill the car is finally back together, its parts are leaving for machining on monday at Performance developments.

Hey I trust you now Scott. What do I know. The guys were using the term in college where there
was no shortage of co-eds to help reduce any pent up frustrations. We were so young back then.
I am just glad that those women would work so hard to help the young college guys concentrate on
thier studies!
