I may be able to make it. Will let you know a little closer to event. One day only for me.

Ooops, just read the thread and they don't allow convertibles unless they have a rollbar.

No go for me.

I received the following email from Aaron at SpeedVentures regarding the event at Buttonwillow on Oct 1 ->3. It sounds like he is btrying to be very accomodating to the Rennlist Team. He can even use some of our more experienced instructors as instructors at this event.

This is sounding great to me. How about a few more solid entries, especially from the wimpy NorCal guys?

Hi Steve,

If 12 or more cars actually sign up I'll give everyone free
timing/transponder rental (normally $20), so that's one incentive.
Secondly, any of the guys in your group who sign up for Friday and Saturday
I'll take another $30 off. If they want to sign up for Sat and Sun I'll
take another $15 off. As you can see I'm more concerned with getting people
to come on Friday . If you have some real psycho's who want to come all
three days I'll give them the free timing, and $35 off and a free t-shirt.

Please send a list, as soon as you can of your guys, and keep updating me as
you get more of them so I can make sure to charge them the discounted
amount. Tell them to go ahead and sign up and not to worry about what their
registration confirmation says they will be charged. I will charge all
cards manually and will make sure to check your list first!!!

Finally, I will need instructors. We give a $30 discount per student per
day to instructors for taking care of someone in the first 3 sessions of the
day. I can arrange for 2 students per instructor so that would be $60/day
discount if someone wanted to take on two. I've got a nice ducks in a row
system they can use.

Any of your guys who are first-timers need to sign up for instruction on the
website ($30, which goes to their instructor). If they're going to be
instructed by one of you guys or their buddy or something, then they should
NOT sign up, because I'll be slaving away trying to find them an instructor
when they don' need one .

Thanks very much for getting this together. I appreciate it very much.

Let me know if you have any other questions, etc.

Hi. I'm a Porsche enthusiast, and I frequent the Rennlist forum. I
posted recently on the forum about getting a large group of Porsches...
some from NorCal some from SoCal... to meet at your Oct 1 -> 3rd event
at Buttonwillow. So far, about a dozen guys are definites. Mosy of them
are very experienced track drivers; some are instructors for other track
groups. There may also be a couple of track novices.

Is there any sort of incentives or accomodations that you can think of
that I could pass along to get a larger group interested? Any other
thoughts? Please respond ASAP to my home email account: ca993twin@yahoo.com.

Thanks,

Steve Michaelson

I'll be there on Saturday and Sunday. I have a Styx concert on Thursday night with the wife (our monthly date night), so being at Buttonwillow early on Friday ain't going to happen....

Steve:

I'll go. Sounds like fun. Sat and Sun only.

Actually the only reason I am going is to make fun of Bob:

Bob:
Don't let them make fun of you. I saw Styx last Fri night and they were great. REO Speedwagon was pretty good too.

I'll come for a day. I would prefer Fri, but it seems that most of you will be there Sat and Sun. If this is the case, I'll go Sat.

Please keep me posted

The longer you wait to register, the more likely the days will fill up. Check their website for payment terms... Aaron said he'd match the names against the list I will give him to make sure the correct discount is applied. That's all I know. I went ahead and registered on the site, and chose a car number already. I suggest everybody with even the smallest interest do the same. No charge for that.

BTW, this group is doing the long track at California Speedway in a couple of months. Thats about 2/3s of the oval, then duck in to the infield road course. I drove it in a "tour" (lower speed), and swore I'm going back. What an amazing facility!

Steve - I have officially signed up for Sat / Sun.. Strange course configs they are planning to run. Running the Dog Leg will be interesting in the turbo. I generally prefer Clockwise with Star Mazda.. Oh well....

So as the "Big Gun" from the South, I assume that you are spotting me 2 seconds a lap.

Bob,

Considering your horsepower advantage, weight advantage, driving skill advantage, aero adantage, tires and suspension advantage, I'm thinking I should only spot you one second per lap.

I agree... I much prefer running most road-courses CW... but then I think I chicken-out more in left hand turns. Sat & Sunday for me as well. What motel will you stay at?

I'm going to submit a list of likely Rennlist attendees to SpeedVentures today. For some of you, I only have your Rennlist screennames, or I've forgotten your last names. If you want to stay semi-anonomous, you can email me with your names, and I'll send in revisions as I get them. My email is ca993twin@yahoo.com.

If you don't care about posting your name, please do it in this thread. I'm submitting the following list:
Bob Brooks
Steve Michaelson
Paul G (oldguy)
Chris Walrod
Edward
Jauder
Randy
Scott Mellor
Harry <Demas?>
Touf
Tom W
Ed <Rewitz?>
Eyal
Agro
Mark O.
Elton

As you can see, I don't have correct or full names for many of you.

Thanks
