OT: Is there a good BMW bulletin board?
I was telling a fellow porsche owner about rennlist, and he asked if I knew of any technical bulletin boards for his 735i. I know a lot of you have BMW's as well, so I thought I'd ask.
Thanks,
David

As Viken mentioned there is http://www.bimmer.org
In addition, you may want to try a site that seems more in use by M5 people http://www.bmwm5.com/vbulletin/index.php
or a site that is more popular with the M3 crowhttp://www.dtmpower.net/forum/forumd...p?s=&forumid=1
As with several bulletin boards, there is some useful information in all of them though I am not necessarily endorsing one over another since I do not have enough experience with any of them. Best of luck.

I like www.bmwm5.com , but I'm not sure how much discussion specifically addresses the 735i. They do have an abbreviated forum discussing the E46 M3, but it lacks the quality and comraderie of the M5 board.

Is that a surprise since we both seem destined, based on current indications, to have the same breeds in our respective stables. STill number 9 on the M3 list or have you moved up?
Oh, I forgot, I only have a sheepish winter car in lieu of your Ducati

Hey Ran,
Yes - still #9, with 3 coupes delivered to date. Slower than expected, but we're in no rush. I'd rather wait for the SMG II.
Ducati should be back from "surgery" within the next week. I can't wait!
"Sheepish winter cars" don't tend to result in shoulder separation as easily. If I hadn't wrecked, I would have been at VIR this weekend.

Oh my did you miss a fine event. Sorry to rub salt on the wound but it was an awesome track one of the best, up there with Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta. Got to drive a Viper ACR with a hopped up engine, dyno's at 502 at the rear wheels. With a back straight of 4000ft I got the car to 140mph with at least a 1000ft of track left. Wait until you see EJ's video.
Plan to be there next year, next to a race this was one of the best track weekends I have ever had. If this track doesn't get your blood flowing you have to be dead.
I took my wife for a one lap ride and when she got out of the car to buckle the harnesses she was shaking, I asked her if she had motion sickness and she said no but she was scared silly and in awe of the track and especially the back straight were you are approaching 130mph and it is blind as you are traveling up-hill. I did take it easy on her especially in the brake zone.

Greg,
Sounds like I missed a great weekend. I'm glad we have such a great course close by (I thought the East and West Coast guys had all the fun! ).
Unfortunately, my shoulder would never have withstood the rigors of driving that great course this weekend. Please count me in the next time an opportunity comes around.
