Question Which wax to use??

Our red car does not have a clear coat. So when I use Maguiars Clear Coat Wax, the sponge gets red. Not good

I asked Maguiars to confirm their "other" wax does not have a "cutter" to it but no reply.

Anyone have an alternative?? Waxol , etc.

I have used Blitz wax (available online) for my Guards Red C4 with great results. It doesn't seem to remove as much paint as other waxes and lasts a long time.

I don't know about not having a clear coat, perhaps you should get your car lacquered.

But that does not answer your question, I use Swiszol Wax (no affiliation, etc.) they have one formulated especially for modern Porsches, it is £69 per pot, and I am really very pleased with the results, it is much better than the other waxs I have used. I am not sure how it would fare with no clear coat.

Glanz wax (synthetic) from Einszett doesn't remove any paint that I have seen, and is a most durable wax. It does not look as nice as a carnuba, but if want depth, you can put a carnuba like P21S over the Glanz for a very nice result. Good luck.

I'll second the Blitz Wax (acutal name One Grand Blittz Wax) http://www.onegrand.com/

Great stuff, looks amazing on Arena Red and my wifes Black Mercedes. Was only so-so on my Ocean Blue Boxster, it had a haze to it that needed extra buffing though it looked great when done. It is also extremely durable.

As an alternative P21S wax is also great. Easy to put on and remove though not as durable. Great shine and no abrasives. Stay away from anything called a cleaner wax. "Cleaner" is code for abrasive.

Monique,
I've recently converted to Zaino for all 3 of my P-cars and been exteremely pleased with the results; I'm doubtful that I'll change again given how pleased I am.
I will say that I wasn't very impressed with the Zaino leather & tire products but I their exterior products are great.

I polished my car up not long ago with Meguiars DACP and a PC buffer. Took out all of the cobweb effect and swirls. Then I used their NXT wax twice, and then one coat of P21S. I'm real pleased. I have hardwater at my house so longevity is an issue probably with anything I use.

I beleive Zaino has two formulas, one for clearcoat and one without.

I have had great success with Zaino. I've even had someone say: "that's the blackest black I've ever seen" (which, of course, really made my day!)
