One thing is for sure - my "job" could never entail having to proofread English. "Are" jobs ????? OK I meant "our". I think I need to retake that English As a Second Language Exam

no offense to turtle wax (ok plenty of offense to turtle wax) - the stuff is garbage. You are better off getting a high quality wash for your car (like sonax or p21s) and simply wash and dry it. Don't put that junk on your paint.

Zaino Brothers polish. Lasts long and provides UV protection for the paint. Note, it's not wax, it's a polymer...Works great on older finishes too. Can bring them back to life...

I bought the expensive kit from Zaino, NO wax, lots of polish?????????????I was expecting much more. The literature was written very poorly as to the application of their product. I hope that once I figure out how to seriously detail my car, the z products surpass my expectation. After spending over $100 I really do not have time to figure out if number 2 or five polish is better, or both in some order??/

Livefreeandrive...go to the website and also read some of the threads about the process others on the board have gone thru. It is very easy to use...both in application and buffing and leaves a great finish which only gets better with each additional coat. You and your car will love it!

I am sure you are right. The nice young fellow who bought my 944 emailed some pics to me of my old car...........I was shocked! I thought he had it repainted......he replied that he used Zaino. The car looked brand new! That is why I ordered the stuff. Time for an education in WAX ON/WAX on again, etc.
Thanks,
Steve

I can not beleive the response to such a mundane question!!

Nonetheless, Delanobe's comment about Turtle might be more valid than first seems.

In the UK, a consumer protection group did comparative tests with other waxes and Turtle came out on top. Cannot remember which ones were compared though.

Good weekend everyone.

Ok ok ok, I will order that Zaino product

I went to their site and saw different products.

Which one should I order?

It's a violetta colour in good condition
I will add it by hand.

Thx

Dalanobe,

My recommendation for a clear coat car would be to pick up the following Zaino products:

1.) EITHER:
- ZFX - Mixed with Z2 and 5 - replaces the need for Z1 OR
- Z1 - Polish lock - Goes it on once before Z2 or Z5 - leave it on and put the first layer of Z2 or Z5 on top.

2.) Z2 - Final polish - Goes on AFTER the Z5 and you can put multiple layers on. I think this one is different for non-clear coat cars.

3.) Z5 - Polish to reduce appearance of scratches - Goes on BEFORE Z2 and again you can put multiple layers on. Note that Z5 is optional, but I wouldn't do all this work without using it.

4.) Z6 - Detailing spray - Use after ordinary washing and in between layers of Z2 and Z5.

5.) Z7 - Car wash. Also can be used as a lube when claying.

And if you're going all out then you can pick up the following:

1.) Zaino clay or similar from another company
2.) 3M Swirl Mark Remover or similar

Search the archives on these products as some others have recommended other products that they say work better.

And don't forget the microfiber towels and some Dawn liquid detergent. FYI, I documented my process on page 3 or 4 of thread.

Best of luck.

Oh and Rockitman . . . that is one fantastic car!! I've got serious GT3 envy! : )

Klasse AIO. Makes black paint look great. Easy on and off, plus good protection.
