Post Zoom Comfy

If anyone has a Zoom + Comfy seat their kids have outgrown and they want to sell, please let me know. I actually need two.

Also, does a '96 support airbag deactivation? If so, I'll need at least one seat with this feature.

TIA,

Peter:

I have a brand new Porsche "Convertable" seat ( Britax for Porsche ) with airbag deactivation. Should work on your '96 as you have OBD II. Did not work on my '95.

Send me an e-mail if you want more info. COuld send you some pictures, etc.

Thanks

Jim, Not sure what a "convertable" seat is. Does it look like this? This is the only one I can use as both my kids weigh about 48 pounds.

If so, I'm definitely interested.

Thanks,

Oops, sorry...

Mine is the seat that allows both forward and backwards facing installation. Sounds like your youngsters are already too big.

You might want to look at the booster from recaro and fashion your own disable. From inspection, the disable either makes or breaks a circuit already existing in the airbag system. I can take a closer look at the disable latch that comes with the kid seat and let you know.

COnsidering the premium Porsche puts on their kid seats with the airbag disable, I was dissapointed in seeing how little the "system" was.

Let me know if you think of going that route.

96 993's do not allow for air bag deactivation. 97 and up.

I think Cary meant to say '96 and earlier do not allow for factory deactivation. You can disable any airbag with aftermarket switches.

Hi all,
I recently got given the Britax by an ex-owner who abandoned P-cars when #2 came around. Our #2 is now three months but I've not had a need for the use of this seat. However, I did not get the instructions and I do have a question.

I tried to mount it facing backward in the back seat. No go, belt is too short. Is this seat meant to go only in the front seat if back ward facing?

It seems forward facing in the backseat would be fine. Lastly, where is the receiver for the belt with the disbling latch. (I admit to not having searched under the seat yet)

I have a '97 4S.

Thx n'@vnce
Louis
