C2 Idle Stumble... ?
I have a 96 993, manual. Battery disconnected to change the steering wheel and when reconnected, I let it idle for 15 min to re-learn. The idle has stayed very low though. Before the disconnect, it idled much higher. I tried to "learn" function where you leave it disconnected then reconnect and idle for 10-15 minutes, but it's still super lower. I'm posting a video from this morning. It's cold here in Indiana (20 degrees). No issues when oil was cold, but as it came up to temp, it was trying to die at a stop. If you let the revs come down gently, no issue, it will catch itself. If you rev, then clutch, it will sputter and die. See the video link. This is in neutral and just revving but you can see the near stall.

Hi Menzzer,
Cold weather, not driven around for adaption, Don't worry too much. If it still does this in warmer weather after a bit of driving the symptom may disappear, if not clean the idle valve.

When you disconnected the battery, the ecu had to relearn the proper idle "catch" if you will. If you had simply let it die when it was having that behavior, it would fix itself on restart. This will happen every time you disconnect the battery for any reason.
Sounds like your ISV may have exacerbated the issue a bit. Good call on cleaning it out.

Now that your ISV is clean, I'll bet my comment still applies. As stated, this is exactly the behavior exhibited by every 96 that has the battery disconnected.
