Great progress. The sound deadening is a good investment. Consider adding some MLV where possible, particularly on the flooring. I deleted the seat anchor over the transmission hump for a sleeker look, but it was a PIA.

DAS makes a nice bolt in roll bar. Weighty, but effective. Easier to do this now, than later.

Looking forward to seeing those new Recarro’s in the car. Awesome seats. Interested to see how they fit in the car.

I won't have the space! Under the driver's seat will be a Helix P6 Ultimate amp/DSP, and the passenger's side is going to have an Audison SR5.600 amp. The plan is to build an enclosure where the back seat bottoms used to be for a Focal Utopia M 10", and ideally make it look like the factory rear seat delete kit

Thanks! I'm excited about the Recaro too. I'll post photos when it's in

So basically this is where we ended up:
1. The Helix works! No magic smoke came out of it when we connected it this time, and we're able to control it using the little screen controller (making sure the firmware was up-to-date took a bit of faffing about)
2. Recaro Podium is in, but the damn Recaro mounts specific for 993 are very tall. I'm sitting maybe an inch higher than factory seats, when there's clearance underneath the seat for another 2" roughly
3. RS carpet kit is complete

I'm also looking to trade my Safety Devices cage for a bolt-in Heigo -- is anyone selling one? Hahaha

Couple of updates:

Stereo is doing well, but I've managed to freak out the head unit on a particular Lil Yachty song -- it goes into protect mode at a certain note while playing LOL. I've adjusted the gains, so now it should be fine.

More importantly, I started noticing a wild metallic rattle from the back. I initially thought it was one of my busted heater control boxes touching the ground, but after listening to it some more I realized it was probably the main fan -- some marks on the bottom of the housing confirmed it. I dropped the car off at the shop today to troubleshoot; let's see how much I'll have to spend to get it back haha

The stereos have been removed from both my 993 and 964. Makes it easier to hear a failed fan bearing when it inevitably fails. Now would be a great time to convert to an RS fan pulley, and lose the fan bearing and sensor. Clewett serpentine belt is also a great solution. It’s an easy fix.

well, shop has informed me that one of the bearings in the alternator is shot, leading to my fan rattle. they want to replace with a new porsche alternator, rather than a reman, which seems like a good idea based on all the reports of crap bosch remans on this forum, but perhaps i should upgrade with a classic retrofit high amp unit instead? the cost is within $100...

Simply have the original alternator rebuilt. Do not replace it with a reman or even the new OE unit. It'll be much cheaper and last much longer.

If you wish to go with an upgraded amperage unit, the Johnny Retrofit one is a good option.

I went through the service records and the alternator in the car is already a Porsche rebuilt one (I'm assuming, because of the X at the end of the part number noted in a service invoice). I kinda want to get the entire reman thing out and upgrade especially because that reman only lasted 3 years and ~15k miles 😩

Hmmm. You may have gotten the wrong one. I thought I remembered the shaft being longer than that....

We realized you're kinda right -- after getting everything together my mechanic and I realized there wasn't enough thread for engagement on the shaft. WOSP tech support mentioned that there are spacers on the shaft we can remove to make it longer, so we'll be removing spacers tomorrow morning. I'm very happy that they have a distributor in CA haha

OK, everything is back together and the alternator went on, as promised. What an ordeal -- I'm gonna start saving for the Clewett serpentine setup, but I'm worried about labor costs haha

OK so I've been waiting on some stuff from Japan, and it finally showed up:

I got a Recaro Sportster LH100SE special edition, with heat! And an Arqray exhaust. Both are on now and hopefully I can just drive the car without anything breaking for a while haha

Went to a Cars and Coffee about an hour away today and a friend took a few photos of my car:
