The same from the front(nice picture)?

That's how I plan to use 13hlq to jack the 993 up and that's why I'm choosing 13hlq.
I've seen Bob (ViperBob) use his DK20 magnificantly to do professional suspension installs, with ease and grace. I, personally, am sold on the DK20.

Just for your reference, I'm able to jack under the engine crankcase with my standard 3ton craftsman - no problem. The reason I'm considering the DK20 is for ergonomics and ease of use. I really could live with the craftsman, but boy oh boy, the DK20 is surely nice (checked it out last time I was at ViperBobs).

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Oleg.

Is there center jack point in the front of the car? How far that jack point is from the center of the bumper?
Can one reach that jack point with DK20 or DK13HLQ would be needed?

Perhaps, I need to quickly rethink my choice of 13HLQ versus 20.

I never jack from any center point up front. I jack using the rear jack points, place jack stands under front, repeat on other side, then jack rear under tranny case. For these tasks a "standard" size jack, ie DK20, suffices.

For the way I jack up my car (and I think the way most folks on this board jack up their cars), DK20 should work very well.

DK20, for me, looks like the best way to go

Just back from a few days of DE at Summit Point, glad to see this thread is still going. I just want to remind everyone that all orders should be placed through Steve at Ultimate Garage. His contact info is available at ultimategarage.com.. Enjoy your new jacks.

I have the DK20 and have used it to lift the 993 from the engine as well as the jack points. Getting it up on 4 jackstands is a snap, and I haven't yet found that it wasn't high enough for anything I need to do on the 993:

These are great jacks, although they are so heavy that they are really only good for garage use. You'll regret trying to lug one of these out to the track, so get one of the lightweights for that.

I love the AC jackstands as well. I bought 4, but had left two of them in the trailer and had to use the Checker stands when putting the 993 up recently. They work, but they just don't seem as sturdy, and they certainly don't look nearly as cool.

One person just sent me an email asking to change their order from a DK13 to a DK20. I will delay sending in the orders to Stertil Koni in case anyone else needs to rethink their decision. This Friday will be the last day of the GP. SD

His prices are far better than available here (300gbp + vat for a dk13hlq) - would someone (preferably East Coast) be prepared to receive a jack from the group buy and dispatch it on to the UK?

PMs welcome ..... cheers, Maurice
Anyone ??

Maurice,
I can take care of that for you. Send me a mail at "Jford66@aol.com" and we can work out the details.

Too bad the cross beam adapter is only 45" wide. I can see the possibility of using a set-up with the DK13 and a cross beam adapter to jack from the front of the vehicle while still using the OEM front jack points (of course then the question would be where to put the jackstands).

Early 911 and 944 owners are spoiled with jack points just under the doors. I was quite jeolous watching my brother jack his 951 from this point and place both front and rear jack stands at the same time. I guess you can't have it all. I still havn't tried jacking the rear from the engine as I am a bit of a nervous Nelly. Aplogies to anyone here named Nelly.

Wow - I'm glad I caught this - was just about to order one independently. Count me in for a DK20 please.

BTW - thanks again Jamie and Steve - those jackstands are the best.

I wondered whether the cross beam could be used on the inner rear jack points, and still enable jack stands to get into the outer rear points. Any one know whether this is feasible?

Cheers, Maurice
