Default Immobilizer Alarm Ignition? Ongoing issue

To start I misplaced immobilizer aka remote and key. Needed to program new unit to car. Nothing but alarm! Here a new adventure begins.
***Learned how to turn off alarm fyi****

After reading a number of threads,

Andy Remote Fob Programming made Easy Revised! –

https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...y-revised.html

which did not address my issue directly, but I read Post 71 by Loren: A common problem occurs from the ignition switch contacts bouncing when cycling the ignition switch off/on. This results in an incorrect entry of the four digit code.
Hmm ok kry issues noted.
I sent out a few emails to andy aka pp000830 and hoggel who both replied, thank-you!

Then I read likely 15 threads, such as
1996 993 key remote does not work

https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...ot-work-3.html
Noting - You need to check the fuse in the central locking ECU (CLM).

Overvoltaging, e.g. battery charger/alternator, or incorrect battery jumping can damage that ECU.
That ECU is very reliable and rarely if ever fails, except when water damage occurs or voltage problems.

Both the 993 immobilizer AND the DME ECM are very reliable AND rarely if ever fail!
Read here; http://www.systemsc.com/problems.htm , under Porsche, Immobilizer 993

Key remotes (fobs) can become intermittent where the battery connectors attach to the fob circuit board. Both of those connections need to be cleaned and re-soldered. Noted.

And remember that the alarm unit under the passenger seat controls the door locks and provides power to the DME ECM. So there're four elements; the immobilizer,
the DME ECM, the alarm unit, & the remote (fob).

Then I read this thread: and came across this statement by Loren on the following thread

Immobilizer can't emergency deactivate (immobilizer light will not flash)

“The alarm ECU can be easily reset (no horn) by grounding pin 2 of the 26 pin connector.”

I read this same statement by Loren in a thread five years earlier, And noting its a very inexpensive repair.

Read here under; Porsche, Immobilizer 993, https://www.systemsc.com/problems.htm

Ok first the background, I moved 3x. {Placed most things in storage. Misplaced Keys, Immobilizer Remotes and More!!!

Order New OEM Key – Why? The keys being misplaced but original was starting to round out creating slippage within the ignition and that alone leads to creating other issues! That took 5 weeks fyi !!!! Yes Five weeks..so go get a spare.

Next I obtain a new remote / immobilizer. This has to be programmed. So I decide to do some more research, send an email off to Loren, whom I might add took time from his day to answer a couple of emails and then agreed to accept my call.

Now the above statement: “The alarm ECU can be easily reset (no horn) by grounding pin 2 of the 26 pin connector.” Is Not so simple.
Actually it is easily done but my alarm module has no markings!! So what pin do I insert the ground wire? Oh yes, its an expensive module and I am not mechanically inclined. Do you sense a hesitation? Well in fact it is easy.

Like threading a needle and putting a button back on your shirt fyi except its a paper clip and some wire

Next I call Loren and to my surprise Lorne offers to walk me through the process of turning off the alarm and Programing my Remote. Wow, now that is Service!! I

Ok so to Eliminate the alarm I install a ground test wire (speaker wire) in Pin 2 Female Alarm connector. Next place opposite end of ground wire on top of Negative battery terminal. Ok. Hook up battery, scar needs Power
Sets off the alarm 2. Then One quick touch ground wire to top post on battery. 3. Suddenly its silence. 4.The alarm is off!

Neighbours have left the field of play!! OK BTW no more annoyances nor apologies!

Lets get this baby running! Where is the remote?

Next Lorne says lets Program the 993 immobilizer. It is very simple -(he says)

1. Open door, insert key, and turn key to run mode. Click ×2. Immobilizer light on in clock.
2. After about 15 seconds, the light should go out. Wait. Then turn key off then on (cycle key).
3. After about 15 seconds, the immo light in clock will start to flash. STOP
darn – ONE FLASH

Can not Cycle the key to enter each of the four digits so Step 4 nor Step 5 can b accomished.
Loren stated in threads:
If step #3 doesn't occur, the ignition switch is bad. The immobilizer then needs to be programmed externally.

Loren’s Post # 10 here:

https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-no-spare.html

Lorens post states Immobilizers have a few known issues – the one I am leaning toward is ignition.

Next I read a recent thread by Marco 8:

https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...t-flash-2.html

OK No Joy. Reality, I Can not program the remote. The immobilizer Will only blink once. No Start. Now what?
What is the next move? Borrow an immobilizer? Buy a used one and install?

I have extensive pics, just dm me and I will b happy to provide

What do you guys think?

TJ

Is it just the electrical switch part of the ignition switch that’s bad? That part isn’t too expensive or difficult to replace IIRC.

How do I remove? Or is this a relay that needs replacement?
Thanks TJ

That feature you demo'd is great but I don't think it's something all MY's have. My 97 doesn't have it. Be interesting to hear from others. What year was your demo car?
