Post RSR mufflers vs others...

I have ordered the RSR's The guy (Robin)is a great guy to work with, he has responded to ever single e-mail. I hear nothing but good things. But recently I been sent a couple e-mails saying that this is a mistake. That the mufflers will not last, and I can never go back to a stock muffler?

Well,I like this Robin guy. I am sticking with my order. Any of you fellow's heard any of this? I don't see how I can go wrong. Robin puts his stuff out there, If you like it, Send him the money...If not...Send him his mufflers.

Thanks in advance!

Curious who would send emails preaching gloom and doom about the RSRs? First name begin with a J?

I would watch out for the RSR mufflers. They won't last more than 3-400 years and they will fall right off. I also heard they will give your computer a virus and cause the IRS to audit your tax returns

Rolo
Others who have the RSR muffler will, I'm sure offer their opinions on Robin's product.
I will tell you that having dealt w/Robin on other matters, having gained immeasurably from his p-car.com website, having enjoyed & benefited from his posts for 2+ years, and having read what others have said about him, Robin Sun is a person of the highest integrity, honesty, reliability and character. When he says to a fellow P-car enthusiast, "come on over & I'll help you install your new suspension," he's serious. His enthusiasm for & devotion to our cars would be insane, if we didn't (on some level) feel the same. He is one man whose word is his bond.

Robin - if this doesn't get me a free thank you RSR, what does? (Juuuuuust kidding - fly lice man)

It is my understanding that DJ has done extensive exhaust gas testing of the RSR system with very special instrumentation.

Like the others have said, nothing to worry about.

I am curious as to why this person would think you can never go back to stock.

Side-bar: I had the RSR's for a year and still enjoy starting the car. My 15 month old daughter honestly knows the sound of my car now and let's my wife know when I am pulling into the garage.

I just noticed that my moniker does not show I am a rennlist member. How do I turn that on?

Thanks.

I think Robin's mufflers are starting to hurt other brands.

Well, it was supposed to have been secret testing, but now that the cat's out of the bag, I guess everyone knows that the shock dyno in my butt is not the only high-tech instrumentation with which I am equipped.

Robin's mufflers aren't any fun at all. They fit well, have great welds, and sound really good. You never have to bother with them.

They're really boring because there's nothing to bitch about. I would love to know who sent the emails to Rolo. Could it be......

Hi DJ:

No pun intended but I've "heard" about your Gluteous Maximus being a finely-tuned instrument, however I would respectfully suggest that you get it looked at and perhaps lubricated as its making an inordinate amount of noise.

Rolo,

I sold a car (that I had) to a Rennlister & he told me that he too got emails from "unknown sources" (that somehow knew about the sale) telling him to think twice - mistake - etc. I was appalled (the car was/is a National Parade Concours car that was/is impeccable & always in capable & non-abusive hands its whole life), but what could I do? I told the buyer that: myself & the car would have to stand on our laurels, and it was up to him (the buyer) to decide who to trust.

He bought the car (and lived happily ever after). I to this day do not know who the sad back biting fellow was, and don't care to.

It did bother me, but I have found that when you have something of quality or substance, someone else out there is always trying to tell the world that what you have is less than claimed. It is human nature I am afraid.

So, take this "warning" you got via email for what it is worth. Consider the warning, thank the jerk, and move on.

I personally own a set of Robin's mufflers. Plus, I am a capable welder w/ all the tools. I admired my RSR's fit & finish (and admire Robin as well) & looked over the detailed work for about an hour once they arrived. It is nice work. Also, Robin is so stand up that he would offer you any type of customer satisfaction you would need if something came up - I am sure. He is just that kind of gentleman.

You just cant imagine how safe this bet is.

Order them up w/o hesitation.

Cool

Rolo,

Be very afraid !!! Once you put the RSR on the car, you'll be the next one here raving and defending Robin for the next 3-400 years.

The only problem I have with Robin's mufflers is that it takes a little while (few hundred miles) to make them sound even better than when you first get them. They get better (sounding) with time. I have 2 sets for each car and consider this upgrade as one of the best bangs for the buck. As for Robin, I can only wish we have more friends/people like him in this world.

Cheers,
