Rolo,

beating a dead horse but the RSR's were my first upgrade. Only problem with them is they set me squarely on the path of spending obscene amounts of money upgrading my car. But i'll NEVER change the mufflers!!

Let me whack that dead horse one (1) more time. I have had my RSRs for 1 1/2 years. As has been mentioned, they really do sound better with age, unfortunately I don't.

I almost enjoy seeing my wife drive down the driveway just so I can hear the music from the RSRs. Thanks Robin!!!!

As far as never going back to stock...that is true. With the RSRs on there, you wont want to go back to stock, sort of like "How can you go back to the farm once you have seen Paris." DJ told me to say that!!

Also, as was added above, "Only problem with them (RSR Mufflers) is they set me squarely on the path of spending obscene amounts of money on upgrading my car." And, I am glad I did!!!

Rolo:

FWIW, they are the only mufflers that we recommend to our customers.

Robins mufflers are, as everyone is saying, perfect. They sound fabulous and raspy is the operant word here. At RPMs they just blow my mind. Best sounding 993 around. Larry

All the goood press that Robin receives is still an understatement. Having dealt with him, I heartily agree that his integrity is of the highest order and the sound of his mufflers must be heard to be appreciated. They have increased the fun factor of my '96 immensely.

Anyone see the recent Pano magazine classifieds? A guy in there listing his 993 and the first or second thing he mentioned was: "RSR MUFFLERS".

Of course I don't have any yet <img src="graemlins/oops.gif" border="0" alt="[oops]" />

I guess it's too late to be a beta tester? <img src="graemlins/oops.gif" border="0" alt="[oops]" />

I know I need them, just need other things for the car too.

FWIW, I agree that the RSR mufflers require some aging to achieve their maximum sonorous quality. They were a big improvement right out of the box, but after 500 miles or so, they begin to sound even better. Psychology? Who knows, but the pleasure is real.

Will you people please stop it. I am sitting here trying to come up with a clever "spousal fraud" plan to acquire some RSR mufflers and perhaps the Bilstein PSS-9 system(if the rear mounting issue is solved), and somehow pay taxes as well. It is a bad case of Porsche envy. My plain-Jane stock 993 feels inadequate. Help me please.

Don,

Don't feel bad - at least, you get to drive that 993 all over one of the greatest cities in the US, up and down 2222, etc, etc. I've got a bad case of "Austin envy"! (went to UT 1985 - 1990)

BTW, Rolo, don't believe the hype: the RSR mufflers stink. Dangerously made by some hack in his garage. Joe told me so.

How can you even think of buying a muffler from this guy? He sends it to you to try and if you don't like it you can send it back. If you want to keep it you send hime a check. I have had it almost two years. The damn thing is built right, sounds great and even improves with time. The best improvement I've made to my car (and I have made plenty). I hate this guy! (just kidding you know I love you Robin!) Mike W

Robin's RSR mufflers are a great addition to any 993 Porsche. Since everyone has just about said everything about Robin, I wanted to add my $.02 to thank him for my two RSR sets. He's one of kind, just like his mufflers. Thanks Robin!

Not only he makes great mufflers for 993s, but Robin is a great person as well.

His integrity and his willingness to help others is a reflection of what he believes in.

Thank you Robin My 993 sounds much better now.
