I too have the RSRs and am very happy with Robin's service and morover the mufflers throaty, gnarly (yet not obnoxiuos) tone and the total absence of any resonance.
Robin, why do you think that the sound quality would change over time?

What I think we need here is a chapter of the UUC (Underground Upgrade Club) - we then could help with tips on buying upgrades without any domestic hassles.
Tip # 1: ship to the office, not to home. That way you can say "Honey, I've had these for a long time, I just never got around to installing them before."
Tip # 2: Get a separate credit card and send the statement to the office.
I'm sure the listers can contribute others.

Start selling some of your old crap on ebay or the Rennlist classifieds. That way, when a package from Gert or Schatz or whoever arrives, you say that it is a replacement or a trade for a part that you "sold last week."
I use this ploy with golf clubs...I've got so many clubs coming and going that my wife has no idea what the totals are of the debits and credits. Diversionary tactic! Confuse the enemy!
