One thing these prices make easier is justifying an engine refresh. I had scheduled to take my C4S in this fall to have the engine dropped, some oil leaks fixed, fuel lines replaced, etc. I may also have the heads refreshed, SAI ports cleaned, and other hard to reach maintenance items done while it’s out. The car runs great, but it is 25 years old. I would probably recover some of the cost if I ever sold it.
Gents, this sold for $119K OBO on Rennlist just this past fall. So somehow this example appreciated at a rate of $7K per month since? Will be interesting to see in the next few hours where it ends up. Somebody drive this thing please....
And then we had this C2S that sold for $155k the other week with the same miles and a less interesting color combo...
but, those 2 cars are not apples to apples. Ocean Blue was a C2S and the Polar/Chestnut was a C4S, albeit with a JB connection. to be honest, both sellers should be pleased. these are still crazy prices, even if we are all getting used to them at this point.
with the $143,993 price, it looks like all bidders put very little value on the JB connection. that's the money the car should have brought on its own.
