I am assuming that the shifter rod is replaced. If so, can someone post a cabin photo of installed FD Motorsports SSK with golden rod.
Thank you.

Fister SSK and goldenrod. Dramatic improvement. Change out your motor mounts to RS. Takes all the slop out of the linkage and things get noticeably better still.

Don’t hesitate! Improves shift feel, allows some nice visceral sounds into the cabin. No worries about noise/vibration/harshness. It’s better all around

And if you want to step it up even more. Here is one of his new products. So tempted if hadn't just installed his original kit.

Has anyone done golden rods without the shifter change? I am not sure it can even be done but if it does what can one expect to the way shifting feels? just thinking if one can preserve the stock appearance.

I’ll let you know how the upgrade goes as I’m getting the parts installed after Thanksgiving holidays.

I Second this. The FDM short shifter is essentially a direct copy of the factory RS SSK. I have the factory unit in my turbo and I have one from a 92 964 cup car I compared it to. They are identical. IMO it is a bit notchy. I also have the numeric shifter in one of my track cars. It is a reasonably priced alternative. I have two cars I compared with the Numeric one with and one without the goldenrod but all new bushings. IMO you can't tell the difference. One issue Numeric made was they eliminated the middle setting. The short setting is short but way too much effort and notchy for my tastes especially a street car. The long throw is too long and more so than the Rothsport. It also makes the taller gears way off to the passenger side IMO.

I found of all of them the Rothsport give you the best of everything. It is pricey all in but IMO by far the best option for a street car. If I had to do it again in my street C2 I would have gone with the version that allows me to use my own shift ****. The metal one is great but it does get hot in the summer sun.

As far as the CAE wonderful unit but I would only put that in my track car.

Here is the factory shifter next to the factory RS shifter.

Kind of.

I replaced the forward rod with new OEM and made a rear shift rod very similar to an RS. Very noticeable. Took a ton of slop out of it.

I agree it is a great product. Can you offer a middle setting shifter option? I find it is either too short or too long but a great unit.

We originally did have 3 options but after testing, the felt that the difference was so minimal that we could just roll with the two options

Another option is the CAE shifter. It's a bit more hardcore and designed for track use, but I love it for the street and the ergonomics can't be beat. Super short shift throws, with zero slop.

For sure the ultimate shifter!
Might be overkill for 'normal' use ... but every move is simple fun and satisfying ...

Console can be modified to make a CAE shifter appear almost stock
