Too tail or not too tail???
Thinking of adding a turbo or turbo S tail to the C4S? I do like the plain lines of my sans tail car....but a change be nice. You thoughts , should I, shouldn't I??

I did the OEM TT tail last year. You will need to be constantly clearing off the drool from passers by. Do it, its not cheap, but you wont regret the stares.

Personally I think a traditional, tail-free 993 is the prettiest shape and huge additions reminiscent of the whale tails of the 1980s are a bit too "boy racer" if they're not on the track... but then maybe that's my stuffy British attitude!
I agree that you should look at lots of photos, enjoy the lusting and make your own choice. Non-stock bodywork may affect resale values but that leaves one option - never sell it!!!

Before I started racing more I really liked the 993 shape without any wing or even front splitter. Once I started racing and felt the stability of the front and rear I fell in love with the car again! Now I cannot image the car without a wing and splitter up front. The looks you get from people are constant when on the street. Who knows, they could be looking at the car and saying "what a stupid looking car!", on the other hand most just provide a big thumbs up sign!
It's all personal preference in the end...

Man that looks nice, I wonder if the S tail would look as good?

Out of all the tails for our cars I'd probably go with the Turbo S tail. What I'm thinking about doing though is going with the Turbo S front end. A lip spoiler and the ducts are all it takes to have that great look. Many have said that the NA wide body 993's are the most gorgeous of all Porsches and I think that opinion has alot to do with the rear end of them. A C2S split grill would look really nice too....

I ended up taking this off because I like the classic look. But I have to admit, the car tooks darn good with the tail too! Too bad you're not in the Bay Area or I'd let you try out my tail for awhile. P.S. ignore the SUV height, the car has since been fixed.

this is one of my favourite tails: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...hreadid=121103
I am tempted for reasons of weight loss AND looks (though i really like the original look too). The current lid with motor and spoiler must weigh a bit. A nice CF fixed spoiler (6kg in the case of the above design) could save a bit off the rear.

I vote no tail as well, but if you DO wind up getting a tail, just make sure it doesn't say "Turbo" on it. To me, having the word "Turbo" on a car with no turbos under the hood is just not right.

Ditto on the Turbo rice remark.
I like it without but if you must, consider the RS tail. It's simple and preserves the factory-look for the narrow bodies without the "poser" risk.
