Speaking of DeLorean, did you know we have a more than a few in the area? I believe there's actually an independant DeLorean mechanic in the Silver Spring area. (i dont think he advertises though...)
Mark, 160 - 170 on the straight...wow! Thats higher than my top speed! HAHAHA And yes turbos, especially big ones, can get addictive. If you want, i have a video of the new Buggati Veyron on a track. 4 turbos- the car honestly sounds like a jet taking off. Its dead on. Too bad you can buy a real plane for less.

Pari - Maybe you can hook up with Steve96C4S since he lives in Rockville, too.
If there are any Montgomery County people that want to caravan, please PM me and we can set up a location to meet.

Ok Mark, it's time to burst my bubble, what are your laptimes at VIR?

<edit> As requested, there is a rain date for our Rennlist Meet and Drive. The date will be two weekends after the originally scheduled date, on Sunday, April 11, 10:00 AM. I hope it'll be dry and warm on March 28!

Hey Mark, I thought you were going to VIR? If so how can the rain date be 4/4?

Todd,
Sorry, I forgot about your other post. My times at VIR are okay at 2' 21"/2' 22"(<edit>according to notes I put on a video, my best time was 2' 22" 06); I have to really do much, much better at the climbing esses, south bend, rollercoaster and hog pen. Hell, that's 1/3 of the damn track. What kind of times are you turning?

Well as usual, I'm chasing you down. Last time I had 2:32 with Manny in the car yelling, don't lift . Without him, my best lap was a 2:36. He really pushed me and I had a blast. I think I could be the poster child for HWFM.......
This is my second trip to VIR so I'm anxious to pickup where I left off.

Todd, I just loaded my car up for Gennady's a few minutes ago. He's going to install the transponder and battery cut-off switch, and maybe do my new TRG bars if he has a chance.

Well luckily insurance agreed to pay for the damages. I got a check for $700 from state farm and the body work will be done before the car is painted. I am still pissed at that other shop for everything they did(they still won't admitt they did anything though).

I cant wait!
EDIT:
By the way, Mark I think its awesome you took the initiative to make this happen! Just a question for ya! While browsing too many of the boards this evening, i notice there are invitations to the drive on many the various model boards...except the Cayenne?? (or maybe its just outta view...)
Are we leaving out this much loved new Porsche? Is it the thought of a big burly truck blowing past us on the highway and twisties??
HEHE, just messin' with ya!

Funny thing about the Cayenne - they are nice, but I obviously don't consider them a sporting car in the same vein as our "smaller Porsches" who's owners would want to come out for a "Porsche Meet and Drive" type event. I guess if a Cayenne owner wanted to come, it would be a cool novelty for the day. In a way, I hope a brave Cayenne owner WOULD come, as I'd enjoy hearing about their owner experience, and it would certainly garner ALOT of the attention as none have shown up yet for this type event in these parts that I know of.
But hey - the more, the merrier, and the more interesting. Diversity rules, yes? Anyone up for the challenge, you Cayenne people?

Tony,
I actually hadn't posted anything on the Cayenne board, perhaps an unconscious act. I guess I figured I had hit enough boards that the Cayenne owners would find the thread, my rationale being that most Cayenne owners who are on Rennlist own other Porsches, while the dilettantes who bought the Pepper because of the Porsche name would never think of venturing onto our boards. Really, though, I'm not a Porsche snob and invite everyone to attend, even the turbo Cayenne that could wax my 993's a**.
