I know I'll get flamed by this but I'll make my stand anyway.

While I think we should not refuse any Cayennes that may choose to join us, I already spend enough time on the road either staring at SUV rear bumpers and unable to see anything beyond, or getting their headlights shine right into my cabin at stoplights (and I've had a few Cayennes with their HIDs burned into my retina). So, it would be nice for once to be in a convoy of *real* sports cars (not SUVs, not SAVs, not XUVs, and not even sporty SUVs) where I can see through and around them, and not worry about get my *** shunted at the light.

Ok, rant off.

Alright - I'll just say it, too.

It might be a little like a "Meet and Drive" for Corvette owners, and a guy with a Chevy Tahoe showing up.

Fair enough, guys. I hate to tell you this but my 993 may be in the shop, so I'll be driving my........Sequoia! Hoo hoo hoo!

I guess I can always ride with someone else and play navigator.

Murphy's law, huh Mark? I can't wait to check out your Sequoia!!!

That's cool - you'll have a great day either way! Sometimes it's almost just as much fun riding with someone else and conversing along the way.

Quick. Somebody. Anybody. Lend Mark a 993. Or should we pitch in and rent him at least a Ford Focus from Hertz?

I guess you could bring the Sequioa but only if you put the Supercups on them!

Anyone one seen the PCA chesepeake video of a cayenne autocrossing and beating our cars? HAHA, I cant wait to see one move like that up close!

And please, do not make ANYONE used to driving our cars rent a Ford. Thats punishment. I was forced to drive a brand new Pontiac sunfire with new tires 1 hour from airport to go pick up my S2 when i bought it. It was terrifying. Someone must have truly planned that so i would eternally appreciate what i just bought. Renting american cars for someone is NOT FUNNY. Nobody deserves that!

Tony,

IIRC, the Focus' chassis was actually developed in Europe, which might explain why I've heard quite a few car nuts describe it as one of the most fun rental cars (exotics from Budget of Beverly Hills, excepted of course).

Btw, I finally did the key LED light mod and it's awesome!

Mark, Sorry, didn't even realize that I was in a 964 thread, but did you mean that the motons could be installed in 5 mins?
I hope to make it.

Mike,

Actually, I think you were in the 924/931/944/951/968 Forum.

No, I don't have first hand experience but I would bet a zillion dollars that the Motons take a good bit longer than 5 minutes to install. I meant I'm about 5 minutes away from pulling the trigger, doing the deed, freefalling down the slope, guaranteeing that my accountant will reserve all disapproving glances for meetings with me, lightening my wallet, etc.

I hope you can make it, as well. Will you be at VIR next weekend? I'm trying to make it, if everything works out.

Last call for the meet and drive! If anyone would like to join our little get-together, let me know here. Similarly, if you have to bail out, no problem; I just need to inform the restaurant.

A couple people have asked what to do if it's supposed to rain. Weatherunderground.com says it's supposed to be sunny and in the 70's, so I'm hoping they're right. If the weather does look like it's going to be wet, stay tuned to this thread so I can notify everyone of the postponement, which I'd like to make no later than Saturday.

See you all soon!

Mark,

Looking at the map of the route for the Fun Run this Sunday, it's showing 17mins of driving(speed limit) on 10 mile distance..??.

Man, I'm driving 6 hours/300+ miles to get there...I got to have more driving with the group than that... Just kidding.. I was looking at the direct route from Super Fresh to La palapa, I know we're hitting some twisties Just wanted more time with the P cars and a Seqoiua

Purrfect weather is forecast - 70's and sunny. Mark, you must have prayed to the weather gods, yes? Should be very nice out. Car got Zaino'd a week ago and sitting dusty in the garage. I got a little lazy and only did 1 coat. I hate detailing my car!

Mike - The drive is through some of the coolest, twistiest roads on that side of town but the straightline distance is not that long, nor does the drive take an extended time to buzz through. For me, Rennlist is about the people and cars, first and foremost. The best part of these get togethers is the chance to spend time poring over everyone's steeds and getting to meet all of the previously faceless names (in some instances). Driving the 993 on the road just doesn't compare to wringing it out on the track. If people really want to spend hours driving, we can do that next time.

And, if people really want to drive, come join me at the track!

Steve - Just got lucky. See you soon.

Hey Mark,

I'll join the drive but will have to bail before brunch...Damani (son) has a soccer game at 1PM.

Think I'll drive my Navigator just for Rezal.
