Default Breaking in Fisters

I finally got my Fister II’s on Two days ago (sorta wish that I had bought the 3’s).
my questions are:
-I am smelling a strong burning smell, is there a protective oil inside them from manufacturing or on the outside? It smells exactly like melting wax when you wax your skis if that helps.
- did someone say that the mufflers break in and get a bit louder over time? I thought I read that somewhere.
thanks for any help!

1) Never smelled anything in my Fister III (I have ceramic coating)

2) Haven't heard any obvious change in my mufflers over 3000 miles.

Did you get the optional ceramic coating?

No smell. No break in on my 3s. Make sure your tips are not resting against your bumper...

Burning wax smell can be some Mobil 1 on your heat exchangers.

Several times that I’ve had aftermarket exhausts put on cars I’ve noticed odd smell for a few hundred miles. I’d get under there and take a look but I wouldn’t be panicking.

FWIW: I have FDIII w/ motorsound air box and they are pretty loud. I like them but was nervous for the first week or two after getting them on!

I have FD3 w/ceramic coating and do not recall any smells after install. I wish yours were coated as I might consider a swap.
