I put the Nokean studded tires on mine, they work great!

OEM Cup 2’s in a properly stanced 993 looks great and the 17’s are a more compliant ride.

In my opinion, the best look on the 993 and best functionality.

You guys driving these gorgeous beasts in snow make me feel positively wimpy! I have daily driven mine since 2001, tracked it avidly for years, and it's just a huge joy --if not outright privilege-- to have rolling art that induces involuntary smiling at every corner. You gents rock! ...so great to see 911s driven and enjoyed in all weather!
Oh, and Bigwood,
As I had mentioned in another wheel thread, those 996 wheels are rare and I've never come across them, not once, but they were my track wheels and I dug em. Looks great on your cab ...enjoy!!!

Forged RUF wheels are only 22lbs front and 25lbs rear, compared with 35lbs front and 40lbs rear for the cast versions. This is for 19" wheels so larger or smaller diameters will have an impact on weight obviously.
I know this as I was eyeing up a set recently and emailed RUF directly to ask.

Off with the TechArts, on with the Cup 2s... Have to say I really like them so far. Have a really classic look and proportion that seems to suit the car.
I went with 235/45 in the back because I think 255/40 looks too meaty. And I'm prepared to take all the flack about how I'm going to induce unsafe oversteer, etc, etc, but I see people upsizing their front tires to reduce understeer, so I figured I would experiment with going down by 20mm in the back. Pictured is with a 28mm spacer. Very comfy amount of clearance in the wheel well and still looks good.
The 18x11" TechArt wheels are surprisingly light. I was expecting them to weigh a ton, but they don't feel subjectively too different from the 17x9" Cup 2s. Have to get them on a scale...

Thread Resurrection…
I am also looking for 18” Cup 2 wheels that are strong and light. It turns out Augment does now make just that, and the wheels are wider and have a lower offset than factory wheels. However, it looks like the contours are slightly flatter than the factory wheels, so I’d want Augment to address that before ordering a set. It seems they didn’t quite nail the proportions when scaling to 18”. I’ve attached a picture of a factory Cup 2 that was painted black to better show the shape of the spokes and face that I’d like to recreate.

...hmmm... doesn't do it for me. But more importantly, have you asked for the weights?
