Thumbs down Some 'nice' responses from Winward

Let me preface by saying ever since I was burned on a set of Ohlins forks for my Ducati I've asked for pictures of obscure places (tire valve stems, etc.), not stock photos, to ensure the product or I'll ask for a pic ransom style with a current newspaper.

Over the top I know but I'm quite careful with EBay auctions since so much can be a hoax or hijacked information.

These wheels I was interested for my brother's 964. Here is the 'nice' responses to my requests. [read bottom to top]

964 wheels

Still for sale.I really didnt think you were interested, sky, highjacking

You should spend your time on a shrinks couch and stop wasting mine

Nota, I am sorry to say but I would reply almost the same way he did. I understand where you are coming from, I buy and sell on eBay a lot, but your initial email comes off very strange. If you sent an email explaining _why_ you want that pic taken that way and then asking for it, perhaps that would be OK. The way it was, it sounded like some kid having nothing better to do.
Sorry to be a bearer of bad news.

Any reputable seller would not heap that kind of abuse if they were not trying to pull a fast one of sorts. Maybe he has the rims but they look like crap.
My recent membership has paid for it self many times over already in "smarts" and great advise (I have only had it for two weeks).

Great idea about the special angle pictures ..etc.

nota, i read your post thinking - hey good idea. it is amusing to see someones reaction to it. i seem to have faith in people and have never been burned on ebay. always been treated right and hopefully always treat people correctly. needless to say, it can come across insulting so doing so delicately would be adviseable. if someone asked me for that i would be happy to reassure them by taking the photo.

cheers,
boris

What an a-hole! Ronin only has an EBay ranking of (3) and he complains that he should be trusted. EBay is full of crooks, and sellers should know buyers are aware of that.

Not to mention his last comment. That shows some serious lack of character.

You would think they would remove the valve stems and tape weights on an item like this. They are in Putney, VT which if you did not know is a bit of an odd place.

Stay as far away from these guys as possible. They owe me PSS9s I paid for four months ago. They refuse to answer the phone or return any messages. I have filed a complain(not that I will get anywhere) with the Vermont Consumer Assistance Program.

mike too bad you're in Fla....i'm taking them to court....placed an order for a set of wheels that would take 6 weeks, cancelled it when they sent me an "authorization form " that was charging me $300 shipping and a 25% restocking fee..........they ignored the cancellation, sent the wheels and charged my credit card $936 when i refused them.....don't EVER give them a credit card number before you get something in writing....and i guess even then you're not home free, eh?

Mike A, I'm just mad enough to fly up there and kick some A$$. It might be the only way to get a response from them. I have called everyday (sometimes twice) without ever getting a response.

A little off topic, but would you believe I sent a $2,300 money order to a guy in South Korea for a Camera Lens bought on EBay and not only did he send it ASAP, but he said he would cover the $75 shipping since I used the Buy it now feature (this lens normally goes for $2,600).

Okay here's the shocking part, he sends me a xmas card 6 weeks ago and also included a little swiss army pocket knife. It sort of restored my faith in mankind after having a few bad experiences myself on EBay.

Nota, I think your requests were perectly reasonable.

It boils down to expectations an people. I try to make my eBay customers happy and have feedback to show for it. But the potential customers don't know me from Adam, so I feel that I have to earn their respect from scratch.
On the other hand, I have very similar expectations of sellers. Which sometimes is a problem, and I have a single negative (rataliation) in my feedback to show for that.
Conclusions? I pay almost no attention to feedback ratings. If it's a big purchase, I get in touch with seller and try to form an opinion of him/her as a person. Buying anything is first and foremost buying the seller. At least in my mind.
