Hi. Whats the reason for selling? How did it work for you?
i have a 95 and was seriously looking at getting Steves chip this winter
regards
glenn
I did an engine rebuild with cams and head work so I needed a different chip.
The chip worked well with the cat bypass and air box mod I had. Mostly noticed the improved throttle response. No huge power gain though.

I have Steve Weiners RS program on my ECU, so assuming it is similar to the chip for 95s, my thoughts:
greatly improved throttle response, motor just wants to go, definitely a boost in the fun factor, probably not a lot of gain in numbers, but the shape of the tq/hp curve is definitely altered and response improved. Mileage is greatly reduced too, but the grins make up for it. I definitely recommend doing it.

i also have a LWF, RS cams, and 200 cell cats.
Yes, but after reading some of your previous posts/threads...at the same time, did you not have a top-end rebuild, and other, "while you're in there" stuff done, in addition to RS cams and a (LWFW, which was previously fitted)? Are you running 91 octane pump gas, or are you mixing 100 octane to give yourself a 93 or 95 octane blend, to take advantage of the advanced timing the chip provides?
Based upon your post, how do you know what to attribute to just the reflash?
Additionally, one car has a varioram; whereas, the other does not.
It just doesnt seem like an apples to apples comparo, as to what to expect, IMHO. Too many variables.

This being said, how do you know what to attribute to just the reflash?

Actually no, many of the changes were done incrementally over several years. LWF was done several years prior. I had the rebuild done, with RS cams and 200cell cats with the 96 ECU initially. Then I procured a 97 ECU from Steve Weiner a few months after the rebuild.
I also swapped between the OEM cats and the 200 cell cats several times, both with the 96 ECU and the 97 ECU, so there are many differnt combinations, including the change of OEM 96 ECU to Flashed RS 97 ECU, as the sole change/difference.
it is very true that the sum total is different, and none of the combinations included stock cams and DMF, only changing OEM ECU to Flashed ECU.
I have a 98 911 cab with tiptronic. I just ordered Fister stage 2 mufflers. What kind of chip would you recommend?
The car gets driven on good weather days no track.
Do none want before and after accurate, reproducible, dyno testing re: re-flashes, major drivetrain mods, or chips? Feelings and anecdotes about driving these care are important, but many here (I hope) want and need objective data.
